🎉 2025 Recap with Specsavers Athlone 🎉

A huge thank you to our amazing customers for your unwavering support throughout 2025. It’s been an incredible year, and we’ve loved being an active part of our community every step of the way!

🫶 Fundraising 🫶

Walk in Pink: Together, we raised an impressive €855 for the Institute of Cancer Research Ireland.

Darkness Into Light: With your help, we raised €220 in this amazing event.

30 Miles in September: We accepted the challenge and raised €660 for the Irish Cancer Society.

Bake Sale: Our October bake sale was a sweet success, raising €1,060 for the Hope Foundation.

Our team had a blast participating in these charitable events!

Athlone Athletics Club: Proud support of their half marathon in September. Athlone Musical Society: Sponsored their fantastic show, Cry Baby. Athlone Golf Club: Contributed to their classic fundraiser in June and a big shoutout to Bealnamulla LFC for winning our sports kit competition in February!

We cherished every moment spent in the community, from the Athlone Agri Show to the Dysart Community Centre comeback event. Plus, we hosted in-store events during Audiology Week and a Contact Lens Information weekend.

Specsavers Athlone is expanding their team!

Join us tomorrow, Friday the 24th of October, we’re whipping up a Bake Sale 🧁🍰🎂 extravaganza where every crumb and cookie will support The Hope Foundation. If you find yourself at Golden Island from 11AM to 3PM, swing by our stand and indulge in some scrumptious treats!

Every euro 💶 you spend will go straight to The Hope Foundation. Last year, our very own director and optometrist, Kate Kelly, joined a Specsavers dream team of Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians, and optometry students. They jetted off to Kolkata, India, where they worked their optical magic on over 3,120 people, handing out 2,203 pairs of glasses 👓. They even referred more serious cases to Hope Hospital for surgery. For many, it was their very first eye test, and seeing their loved ones clearly for the first time was simply magical.

After a busy week of volunteering, Specsavers Ireland proudly handed over a whopping €200,000 cheque to The Hope Foundation, all thanks to your generous support. We're back in action this year, ready to raise funds for this amazing charity 💛 🙌 👏

Earlier this year, Specsavers Athlone held a competition for a team kit, and Bealnamulla LFC won.

The under 15's girls football team received their kits and we were delighted to invite them into store recently to show them off.

Bealnamulla LFC , an all-girls football team in Athlone, was founded in 1992, made history in 1996 by becoming All Ireland Intermediate champions.

The club has enjoyed ongoing success at various levels and officially opened its current pitch in July 2014, and has been serving girls in Bealnamulla and surrounding areas ever since.

Specsavers Athlone proudly sponsored the U15 girls' kit and we want to congratulate them on their recent win against Edenderry Town FC. We would like to extend our best wishes for future games, confident in the girls' dedication and teamwork.

The spirit of Bealnamulla LFC is inspiring, and the community's support is vital. As the girls wear their new kits, they are encouraged by local cheer and support.

Yvonne, our fabulous audiologist, and I were at the Athlone Agri Show today, chatting about keeping your eyes and ears safe!

It was a blast, with fun for all ages. We had a hilarious battle with the gazebo—it eventually surrendered and went up 😆. What a day it was 🥰.

A huge thanks to everyone who swung by our stand. Can't wait to catch up with you again soon.

And a massive shoutout to the Athlone Agri Show organizers. You made it an epic day 😀.
