Thompson Funeral Directors Whether it is sudden or expected, we are rarely prepared for the loss of a loved one. Grief can overwhelm us in many ways, challenging our ability to cope.

We are there to help during the initial period of grief and ensure that the funeral becomes an occasion which the family can look back on, with respect and move on with hope for the future. A death in the family can be a difficult time for everybody.

Alice Murphy (née) Bambrick, passed away peacefully on 10th September 2025 at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise surrounded by her family. Predeceased her husband Jackie, son-in-law Cyril, her brothers and sisters. Alice will be sadly missed by her daughters Ann and Catherine, grandchildren Brendan (Emma), Catriona (John), Annalise (Dylan), Martin, great-grandchildren Dylan, Paul, Casy, Jack, Erin, Jake, Oliver, Darcie Mae, Livie, Andy, and Tom, son-in-law Bren, brother-in-law Sam, niece Anne Kelly, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.



Alice will repose at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mount Hawkins, Athy (R14 NX80) on Friday evening 12th September from 5pm to 7pm with Rosary at 6.30pm. Removal at 10.45am on Saturday morning 13th September to arrive at St. Michael’s Parish Church, Athy for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Michael’s (New) Cemetery, Athy.

Angela Bambrick, Greenhills, Athy, Co. Kildare passed away suddenly at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise on Wednesday 27th August, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Tosh and Julia. Angela will be sadly missed by her daughters and son: Symone, Aisling, Dylan and Sorcha, her grandchildren Katie, Abbie, Fionn, Darragh, Cadan and Emily, sons-in-law David and Shane, her loving brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, extended family and friends.

David will be sadly missed by his wife Una, daughter Niamh, son David and father Roy, his step children Jessica, Emma, Tommy and Bryan, grandchildren Killian and Rory, his 9 step grandchildren, son-in-law John, daughter-in-law Louise, sister Linda, brother Ian, aunt Olga, father-in-law Séan, nephews and nieces Darragh, Fiona, Eoin and Kate, extended family and friends.

Rosaleen Leeson (née Tobin), Clondalkin, Dublin 22 and formerly of Bluebell, Dublin 12 passed away peacefully on Saturday 9th August, 2025 after a short illness surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her husband James (Jimmy), her sisters Margaret, May, Kathleen and her brother Fran. Rosaleen will be sadly missed by her loving daughters Debbie, Tina and Janice, grandchildren Darren, Vicky, Aimee, James, Séan, Sam and their partners Orla, Mark and Denis, her great grandchildren Harry, Katelyn, Callum, Tadhg and Cillian, sons-in-law Keith, Robert and Stan, her siblings Ann, Phyllis, Pauline, Séan and Noel, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Predeceased by her husband Paddy. Rose will be sadly missed by her loving children, Rose, Patrick, David, Sandra and Lorraine, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sons and daughters-in-law, brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, relative, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reggie Lalor, Whitecastle Lawns, Athy, Co. Kildare passed away peacefully on 22nd July, 2025 surrounded by his family, in the wonderful care of the staff of St. Bridget’s Hospice, The Curragh. Predeceased by his sons Fintan and Baby Neil, parents Michael and May his brother Aidan and his sister Anne. Sadly, missed by his loving wife Liz, sons Derek and Aiden, grandchildren Niall, Clodagh, Caoimhe and Sadbh, daughters-in-law Orlaith and Liz, sisters Gertie, Honor, and Mary, extended family and friends.
