Paul David Curran, Grangemellon, Carlow Road, Athy, Co. Kildare, passed away on 1st November 2025. Predeceased by his grandparents Margaret and Tony Guerrine and his grandfather Dessie Curran. Paul will be sadly missed by his heartbroken parents David and Bernie and his family, Jade, Simon, Mark and Skyeleigh, his nanny Margaret, neighbours, relatives, extended family and friends, and his beautiful dogs Coco and Mylo.

Paul will repose at his home, Grangemellon, Carlow Road, Athy, (R14 KW95) on Friday 14th November from 3pm until 5pm. (House Private at all other times Please). Removal on Saturday 15th November to St. Michael’s Parish, Athy for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by committal service in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome, Harold’s Cross, D6W HY98 at 1.45pm

Kathleen (Kay) Whelan, Mansfield Grove, Athy, Co. Kildare. Passed away unexpectedly on the 27th October 2025 in Naas General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Mary and Martin, sisters and brothers. Kathleen will be sadly missed by her loving husband Tom, son and daughters, Caroline (Mullarkey), Thomas (Whelan) and Ciara (Fennin), grandchildren Clare, Ian, Laura, Colin, Gillian, Jenny, Joseph, Rachel, David and James, great grandchildren Bernard, Páidí and Ollie, sons and daughter-in -law, Sean, Carmel and Michael, sisters Anne and Carmel, brother Pat, brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, extended family and wide circle of friends.

Kathleen will repose at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Athy (R14 NX80) on Wednesday 29th October 2025 from 6.30pm until the conclusion of prayers at 8.30pm. Removal from Thompson Funeral Home Thursday 30th October at 1.45pm to St. Michael’s Parish, Athy, for Funeral Mass at 2pm. Followed by burial in St. Michael’s New Cemetery, Athy.

Josie Farrell (née) Morrissey, Foxhill, Athy, Co. Kildare, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday 27th October. Predeceased by her husband Ned, brother Johnnie, sister Maureen and nephew Declan. Josie will be sadly missed by her sons, Gerry and Eamonn, grandchildren, Jamie, Scott and Emma, great grandchildren Cara and Jake, daughters-in-law Amy and Olivia, sister-in-law Lily, nephew, nieces, neighbours, relatives, extended family and friends.

Funeral Mass at 11am on Thursday 30th in St. Michael’s Parish Church. Followed by burial after in St. Michael’s (New) Cemetery.

Desmond (Des) Flood, Fortbarrington, Athy, Co. Kildare, passed away peacefully at Cloverlodge Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Louise. Des will be sadly missed by his loving wife Bridget, daughter Denise and son Dessie and their partners, grandchildren Adam, Alex, Becca, Emily and Abbie, brothers, Denis, John, Louie, sisters Mary Joe and Nuala and their partners, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives, extended family and friends.

Des will repose at Thompson’s Funeral Home on Friday 24th October 2025 from 5pm to 7pm. Celebration of Des’s life will take place at Thompson’s Funeral Home (R14 NX80) on Saturday 25th October at 1.30pm followed by burial at 2.30pm in Kilmead Cemetery (R14 FE80).

Ellie (Helen) Darby, passed away on 3rd October 2025 peacefully surrounded by her family in the wonderful care of the staff of St. Vincent’s Hospital, Athy. Predeceased by her parents Tom and Theresa. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sister Beatrice, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

A private cremation ceremony has taken place.

Corr Francis (Frank) Kildangan, Co. Kildare and late of Athy and London. Suddenly at his home 2nd October 2025. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary. Beloved and devoted husband to Claire and much-loved brother to Plunkett. Francis will be sadly missed and forever loved by his devoted wife and best friend Claire, brother Plunkett, nephews Sean and Nathan, grandniece and grandnephew, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family and his wide circle of friends near and far.



Death leaves a heartache nothing can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

(Funeral Cortege will walk from St. Michael's Parish Church Athy (12.45pm) to St. Michael's Old Cemetery)

Ernest O’Rourke-Glynn, 41 Mansfield Grove, Athy, Co. Kildare passed away peacefully on 23rd September, 2025 surrounded by his family at Cloverlodge Nursing Home, Athy. Predeceased by his parents Ernest and Molly, brother Norman and sister Pearl. Ernest will be sadly missed by his loving sons and daughters Sandra, Janelle, Dawn, Paul, Gail and Scott, his grandchildren Ryan, Paul, Charlie, Ashton, Harper, Willow, Phoenix, Chester and Arlo, daughters and sons in law Vadim, Bryan, Paul, Kristof, Amber and Kelly, sister-in-law Patsy, auntie Rita, Lenore and Cathy, nephews and nieces extended family, friends and colleagues.

Joe Brady, Shanrath East, Athy, passed away peacefully on 16th September 2025 surrounded by his family at St. Bridget’s Hospice, the Curragh. Joe will be sadly missed by his loving wife June, sons Steve, David, Joe, daughter Gillian, his 7 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 2 great- grandsons, 2 great -grand daughters, daughters-in-law, Michelle, Siobhan, Juliane, son-in-law John, sister Anne, brothers- in- law Gerry Molloy and Joe Molloy, extended family and many friends.

Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Christina, sisters Breda and Kathleen and brother Jack Delaney

Josephine Gallagher (Née Kirwan) Woodlands, Castledermot passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Naas General Hospital on 10th September 2025. Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Margaret, her brothers and sisters. Josephine will be sadly missed by her husband P.J., son and daughters Joann, Eugene and Vanessa, grandchildren Erin, James, Sadie, Molly, son-in-law Patrick daughter-in-law Louise, brother Frank, sisters Maureen and Kathleen, sister-in-law Biddy, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
