Arklow had a new statue unveiled of Olympic Gold Medalist Ronnie Delany. Ronnie who won gold in the 1500 meters in Melbourne in 1956 was born on the 6th of March 1935 in Arklow. He was in person for the unveiling of the statue by sculptor Paul Ferriter and expressed his gratitude and said he was honoured and priviledged with it.
