🌟 Why We Move the Way We Do 🌟

Before we began our Chair Yoga practice today, I shared a little insight into why we do certain exercises in class. I’ve always found that when I understand the purpose behind a movement, I feel more connected and motivated—and it turns out my class felt the same!

They enjoyed it so much that I’ve decided to make it a weekly feature. Each week, I’ll highlight 3 or 4 of the movements we practise and explain how they support our body in everyday life.

Because when we understand the why, movement becomes more than just exercise—it becomes intentional, empowering, and meaningful.

My hope is that this helps everyone feel more confident, informed, and in control of their wellness journey. The more we understand our bodies, the better we can care for them. 💜

🌿 Chair Yoga in Deansgrange – Still Going Strong! 🌿

I know I’ve been a bit quiet lately, but just to let you know – I’m still teaching chair yoga every Tuesday at 10.30am in Deansgrange Parish Centre, and the classes are going from strength to strength! Numbers have been steadily rising each term, which is just brilliant. 🙌

We’ve got 3 weeks left before our summer break, and I’m delighted to say that I’ll be opening a second class on Thursdays, so watch this space for more details! 📣

Chair yoga is a gentle but effective way to improve flexibility, strength, balance and mobility – perfect for seniors, those recovering from surgery or injury, or anyone with restricted movement. It’s a mix of stretch and strengthening exercises, all done either seated or using the chair for support – so it’s accessible, safe and beneficial for everyone.

It’s also a lovely, sociable class, and open to all genders – everyone is made very welcome.

If you're thinking about trying it, come along – you might be surprised at how good it makes you feel!
