Today, September 13th, is World Sepsis Day🌍
Sepsis is a life-threatening reaction to an infection. It can be difficult to recognise, but spotting the signs early can save lives.
Know the signs of sepsis:
🔸Slurred speech or confusion
🔸Extreme shivering, fever or muscle pain
🔸Passing little or no urine
🔸Shortness of breath and/or fast heart rate
🔸Feeling like you’re going to die
🔸Blotchy or discoloured skin
Symptoms can vary and may look like flu or a chest infection. Sepsis cannot develop without an infection, but if something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts and seek help quickly.
