Independence and quality of life are important for us all as we age. Any work we do on it now will benefit us in the future. We work with clients and track their progress to ensure continuous adherence and progression. A disuse event can be catastrophic for our health and independence as we age. An event such as a fall, fracture, illness, including hospital stay can mean a loss of strength, mobility and function. The best way to tackle this is through protein intake, and a consistent combination of resistance training with aerobic training.

Gait asymmetry was not associated with higher injury risk. The human body is fantastic at adapting to the way we move. If the progression is right, and recovery is right we should be able to progress in a safe way. Many are being sold the idea that posture, foot posture, gait etc is the reason for your pain. Educate yourself and make good informed decisions.

I am a Physical Therapist based in Ballina, Co. Mayo. My aim is to help people with their pain and injury experience using up to date scientific evidence. I use education, hands on techniques, breathing techniques, and exercise to get you moving and feeling better, so you can get back to doing the things that are important to you in your daily lives. This involves looking at you as a person and working on the individual factors which contribute to your pain.
