In 2005 Alex achieved Master-level qualification in the field of Physiotherapy at the University of Physical Education in Cracow, Poland. r Alex commenced employment at the First Step Rehabilitation Centre in Patrickswell, co. Limerick where she worked until 2015. Having an experience both in private practice and as a Physiotherapist Staff Grade Alex is a well trained professional with set of skills and knowledge. Over the years of work , Alex dealt with both intensive neurological rehabilitation orientated towards post-stroke conditions, Parkinson's disease, developmental delays, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome disorders etc. as well as musculoskeletal pain management including Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, Kinesiotaping, deep tissue massage,soft tissue and manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, mechanical modalities: electrotherapy, Laser, Cryotherapy, heat therapy etc. Now as a private practitioner Alex is running her own business both in Polish and in English. Intensity Physiotherapy Clinic offers a wide range of specialist therapy services enhanced by using special exercise equipment e.g. Universal Exercise Unit/Spider cage. UEU is unique and a universal device facilitating rehabilitation of children and adults with neurological disorders. It allows one to isolate desired (weakened) muscle or muscle groups and strengthen them to enable function, eliminate gravitational forces acting on the body to facilitate weak muscle groups and active movement, focus on a particular functional skill, improve balance and coordination, promote developmental milestones and many more...
Moreover Universal Exercise Unit is successfully used for Pain Patients as an additional management following heat and electrotherapy/ deep tissue massage/ Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy etc. It is beneficial in reducing lumbar or cervical pain or disc compression or in very early postoperative rehabilitation as the most effective device for improving muscle strength.
