This memory came up on my Facebook from this time last year. I remember thinking at the time that I’d never cope with the PPE🥵 I could hardly breathe and regularly had to sit on the bench outside in between appointments to catch my breath. Here we are a year later and nothing in the clinic has changed. We’re still wearing the full PPE, still spacing out patients, still sanitising.... Still keeping safe❤️
So this is my ‘new normal’, I don’t like it but this is it. I was aware that the PPE must be an inconvenience but after today I KNOW it is. It’s hot, it’s uncomfortable, my goggles/ shield fog up, I felt like I couldn’t breathe🥵 However we’re doing it to protect ourselves, to protect our patients and to protect those we live with. We’re doing it to save lives❤️
Things are very different in the clinic and will be for quite some time. We have spaced appointments out to avoid patients meeting in the waiting room. We are thoroughly cleaning surfaces, the clinical chair, door handles, etc. after each patient. We are asking people to stay in their car until we ring them and to wear a face mask where possible😷 All of this takes extra time therefore we are unable to treat as many patients in a day as we could before Covid-19.
We have a long waiting list of patients who had to be cancelled throughout the lockdown. We also have patients to accommodate who were ringing during the lockdown. We will do our best to get back to everyone and we appreciate your patience and cooperation at this time🤗
This pandemic is far from over and I would like to quote Minister Simon Harris- ‘just because it’s open doesn’t mean we need to go’. If you’re in pain please don’t hesitate to call us. However if it’s a treat/ pamper for your feet your looking for, I don’t feel that this is the best time to book this kind of service.
I hope you are all safe and well. Looking forward to seeing you all in better times. We must be positive, responsible and help each other to save more lives. If we do this we can beat this virus!
Elaine❤️
