Today, our members proudly participated in the Ballina’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Both our senior members and cadets came out in force and looked fantastic in their uniforms.

All of our members — from as young as 10 years old and upwards — volunteer their time to provide vital services to the community.

Well done to everyone involved. Your dedication and commitment make us all proud!

We also had the pleasure of promoting cadet Ultan Dempsey to the rank of Corporal. Well done Ultan, well deserved!

Today we wish our Deputy Officer in Charge Catherine a very happy birthday! Enjoy your special day, you deserve it!

Today, Catherine & Rosann had a wonderful visit to St. Tiernan’s Community Playschool in Crossmolina on behalf of Ballina Order of Malta. 🚑

They spent the morning chatting with the children about what we do in the Order of Malta and giving them a little look into the world of first aid. The children got to learn about the items inside a first aid kit, hear about the equipment inside an ambulance, and ask plenty of great questions along the way.

When they arrived, they were delighted to see the children had created beautiful pictures of colourful ambulances which were proudly displayed around the room. It was fantastic to see their creativity and enthusiasm. 🎨

A big thank you to all the staff and children at St. Tiernan’s for such a warm welcome — they had a brilliant time and hope the children enjoyed it as much as they did!

Last night we had the pleasure of visiting Bonniconlon to deliver a presentation to Foróige on essential first aid skills. The session covered CPR, the treatment of bleeding, how to correctly make a 999 emergency call, and other important life-saving techniques.

It was fantastic to work with such an engaged group of young people, and we were delighted to share some practical skills that could one day help save a life.

Thanks to everyone in Bonniconlon for the warm welcome and enthusiasm throughout the evening!

They delivered an engaging and informative session on road safety, including guidance on the safe use of bicycles and e-scooters, and provided an overview of the varied roles and responsibilities of An Garda Síochána.

Last night Ballina Order of Malta had the absolute honour of recognising Robbie Cawley, P.J. Padden & Michael McDonnell for an incredible 50 years of service. This is truly an outstanding achievement, and we are extremely proud to have them as part of our organisation.

For half a century, they have given their time, dedication, and commitment voluntarily to serving others in our community. Their contribution, experience, and unwavering support have helped shape our organisation into what it is today. Proud is an understatement… we are deeply grateful for everything they have done and continue to do.

Congratulations and thank you all for fifty years of remarkable service.
