June 12th 2011 was the start of my knee injury,I broke a bone and did severe ligament damage.Nearly a year later to the exact day in Australia I tore my ACL in the same knee little did I know then that 12/06/11 was the last time I would play sport until last night.Yes last night I played 45 minutes of a match it might only have been in goal but it felt so good to be back.
I never thought that at 28 I would have played my last match at 24 and be retired now, I never wanted that but it has been a long hard road to get back playing, 2 operations, hundreds of hours on physio tables and of course hundreds of sessions in the gym. I have had plenty of set backs but the best thing to come out of this injury is it gave me the chance to study my injury and understand it so much more and now I am a fully Qualified Neuromuscular Physical Therapist (NMT) and I fully understand what it takes to get back from such a serious injury. It takes all the hard work in the gym but you also need the rehab from someone like me who can help your muscles recover after a tough workout or help you get back after a setback quicker.
Feel free to contact me anytime on here or by phone for any queries you might have and I will be happy to help
