With a 1st, 2nd and 3rd from their last 3 entries in the All Ireland One-Act Festival the Butt Drama Circle have a reputation for delivering excellent one act dramas.

They have two more for you - psychological thriller The Ripple Effect (their 2025 All Ireland entry) and bittersweet tale of canine kennels A Dog's Life.

See https://balorartscentre.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/shows/873658356 for tickets!

The Balor Arts Centre is the place to be on October 23rd and 24th as two One Act plays from the Butt Drama Circle take to the stage.
"The Ripple Effect" by Robert Scott is directed by Shaun Laverty.
There’s no doubt that Eva has murdered Timothy – she’s still holding the gun. But what drove her to kill? Was it fate, or the random collision of people and circumstances? Who, ultimately, is to blame?
Forget what you read, forget what you’ve heard, see the story rewind to its beginning. Only after you’ve seen it all - will you be able to judge.
The Ripple Effect is the Butt Drama Circle’s entry for The 2025 ADCI/DLI All Ireland One Act festival circuit.
A Dogs Life by Pamela Valentine
is directed by Bernie Thompson
Four dogs, one kennel — a tale of laughter, loyalty, and the bittersweet wait for a forever home.
Heart-warming, funny, and gently moving, A Dog’s Life is a light-hearted yet touching comedy that invites audiences into the world of four dogs sharing their kennel.
With plenty of wit and warmth, the play reveals the joy, loyalty, and mischief of man’s best friend — but also the quiet moments of longing, change and the uncertainty of what tomorrow may bring.
This charming production captures both the laughter and the lumps in the throat that come with loving our four-legged companions.

Saturday night is filling up nicely!

Spend your evening in the company of
Noel – your typical everyday country father,
Breda – the dramatic and slightly raunchy housewife,
Christy – the well meaning but unlucky builder,
Fr. Nettles – the tea loving priest,
Seamus – the worst plumber of a generation and
The Garda – a policeman who couldn’t solve a 10 piece jigsaw puzzle in this hilariously recognisable portrayal of A Day in the Country.

From The Balor to The West End!Congratulations Aoife. Wishing you every success.

We at the DCA are absolutely thrilled for our very own Aoife Browne from Ballybofey, a past pupil of the Balor DCA Youth Theatre! 🎉

Aoife has just landed a dream role in Stranger Things: The First Shadow at the world-famous Phoenix Theatre in London. The show, based on Netflix’s hit series, has been running since November 2023 and is now heading into its third year on the West End stage.

Aoife only moved to London two weeks ago to start rehearsals, and would you believe this incredible part came from her very first audition after graduating from Dublin’s prestigious Lir Academy (home to the likes of Paul Mescal!). What a breakthrough moment! 🌟

We couldn’t be prouder of Aoife and all she has achieved. From Ballybofey to the bright lights of London’s West End – it’s truly inspiring. The whole DCA family is cheering her on, and we wish her all the luck in the world as she takes this amazing step in her career. ❤️👏
