Your spine is your mid structure and your inner support system. In yoga, we don’t just stretch our backs…..we awaken this
vertebral column. We look to create space between each vertebrae and nourish the nervous system that runs through it. We move energy up and down this sacred channel (sushumna nadi) with conscious awareness. The spine is designed to move in six ways:
✨ Forward folds (flexion)
✨ Backbends (extension)
✨ Side bends (lateral flexion)
✨ Twists (rotation)
✨ Lengthening (axial extension)
✨ Neck Twisting (axial rotation)
When we explore all these movements we build strength, structure and support. A healthy spine isn’t about forcing flexibility — it’s about balanced support, strong core, steady breathing and importantly mindful alignment for posture. Your spine holds you every single day like a perfect mobile scaffold.
