Michael Hogan, Meadowville, Birr, Co. Offaly, passed away on 16th March,2026, surrounded by his loving family, in the care of the wonderful staff in The Mater Hospital, after a long illness bravely borne.

Predeceased by his father Tommy and parents in law Paddy and Maura McLoughlin.

He will be loved and missed forever by his heartbroken wife Mary, beloved daughters Tracy & Claire, his absolutely adored grandsons Lochlan & Caolan, sons in law Mark & Ronan, his mother Mary, brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Boyd's Funeral Home, Birr (R42YF75) on Tuesday from 5pm - 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am. in St. Brendan's Church, Birr, followed by burial in Clonoghill Cemetery, Birr.

In loving memory of Ann Hogan (née Smyth) of The Swan Bar, Main Street and formerly of Church Street, Birr, Co. Offaly who passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15th, 2026 in The Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore.

Predeceased by her father Peter and mother Mary Smyth (née Talbot), father-in-law Willie Hogan and brothers-in-law John, Martin and Noel Hogan.

Ann will be sadly missed by her loving husband Liam, mother-in-law Ann, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces,
Cousins, and many friends.

Mary Guinan, (née Maloney) Russellspenn, Rath, Birr, Co. Offaly and formerly Ballybritt, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary.

Mary passed away peacefully at her son John’s residence, surrounded by her loving family, on March 13th, 2026, in her 97th year.

Predeceased by her parents William and Mary, husband Tom, infant son Thomas, daughter Emby, daughter-in-law Veronica, brothers Joe and Billy and sister Chrissie Nixon.

Mary will be sadly missed by her daughter Teresa (Dundalk) and son John (Rath), her sons in law; Sean Minnock and Pat Molloy, her sisters;
Bridie Quegan (Killyon) and Peggy Guilfoyle (Killeen), her grandchildren; Sandra, Sarah, Laura, Shane, Ann Marie, Jonathan, Thomas and Ciaran, her great grandchildren; Jamie and Calum; brother-in-law George, nieces & nephews, cousins, relatives, great neighbours and her wide circle of friends.

Mary will repose in Boyd’s Funeral Home, Birr (R42YF75) on Sunday 15th, from 5 to 7 pm.
Funeral Mass on Monday 16th at 11am. in St John’s Church, Rath. Following Mass, she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Tom in St. James Cemetery, Eglish.

Emlyn Gallagher, Seffin Avenue, Birr, Co. Offaly and formerly of Lusmagh, Co. Offaly, passed away peacefully on March 7th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful care of The Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.

Pre-deceased by his parents Rita and Pat Gallagher and his parents-in-law Nora and Michael Sullivan.

Beloved husband of AnneMarie and loving father to Alex, Emma and Cliodhna. He will be sadly missed by his brother Mel (Dublin) and sister Pia Ryan (Portarlington), brother’s-in-law Colin and Denis, sister-in-law Breda.
Fondly remembered by his uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and his many friends and work colleagues.

Bridie passed peacefully on March 8th, 2026, in the exceptional care of The Laurel Suite, Birr Community Nursing Unit, in her 95th year.

Predeceased by her husband Johnny and her brothers Peter and Tommy.
Bridie will be sadly missed by her sons & daughter; John, (Castledaly), Seamus (Derry), Regina (Horan, Fivealley), Des (Derrinlough) and Aidan (Derrinlough), her daughters in law; Veronica, Helen, Marie and Teresa and her son in law Padraig. Cherished grandmother to Conor, Oisin, Mairead, Deaglan, Ciara, Ronan, Aoife, Órlaith, Gráinne, Katie, Hannah, Aishling, John and Laura and her three great granddaughters; Fódla, Bláithín and new born baby Banbha, nieces & nephew, relatives, neighbours and wide circle of friends, especially her “Laurel suite“ family in Birr Community Nursing Unit where she resided for the past six years.

The death has occurred of Mary McDermott (née O’Keeffe) late of St. Brendans Villa's and Newbridge St. Birr, Co. Offaly and formerly of Newport, Co. Tipperary.

Mary died peacefully on March 2nd, 2026, in her 88th year, in the care of The Clonmacnoise Ward, Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was also cared for by the excellent staff of the Laurel Suite, Birr Community Nursing Unit where she resided for the last three years.

Predeceased by her loving husband John and her son Ger.

Mary will be sadly missed by her daughters Deirdre, Mary and Elaine, her sons; Andrew, Noel, Colm and Ian, also by her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, her brothers and sisters and her many neighbours and friends.

Margaret died unexpectedly on February 23rd, 2026 in the kind and loving care of the staff at Ealga Lodge Nursing Home Shinrone.

Beloved wife of the late David, she will be sadly missed by her son Peter, daughter Maureen, son in law Chris, grandchildren Thomas, Ruby and Ella, her sisters; Kathleen Guinan, Josephine Burke and Ann Foran and sister in law Deidre Guinan, brothers in law; Pat Burke, James Kiernan and Barry Capindale, relatives, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by her sister Elizabeth brother Peter and brother-in-law Tom Foran.

Predeceased by her husband Frank and daughter Shirley (McDowell).

Rebecca passed away peacefully on the 21st of February 2026, surrounded by her loving family, in the care of the wonderful staff at The Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.
Rebecca is predeceased by her beloved mother Bridget and her brother James.
Rebecca will be forever loved and deeply missed, by her loving daughter Sarah Jane, her heartbroken father Seamus, her sisters and brothers, her four grandchildren; Kyle, Alyssa, Laighton and Ruben, her heartbroken fiance Richard , his parents Liz and Obez ,and his sister Sinéad, son in law Shane, nieces ,nephews,uncles and aunts , cousins and her great neighbours and friends.
