So why do I like yoga?
Well, here is a few things I like about it and Iโm mainly refer to the Iyengar yoga, but I also like other yoga styles too.
But after practising Iyengar yoga for 16 years and teaching it for 11 years, itโs the one I practice most.
๐ซ The way it makes me feel, after practice you just feel so good, both physically & mentally.
๐ซ The alignment & precision, to get into those hidden places and get them to lengthen and strengthen.
๐ซ You can practice anywhere, and throw in poses while you waiting in queue, mainly doing Tadasana/mountain pose. But be wild and try anyone. You might get some looks wondering what youโre doing. But who cares, be you. ๐
๐ซ And many more reasons.
Iyengar yoga focus on alignment and the precision in doing the poses. This makes it safe for your body.
Itโd often referred to as meditation in action, and to be honest itโs pretty hard to think of other things while in a pose. This also brings you into the present moment.
Itโs a very good complement to other yoga styles, activities & sports. If you want to try it out, I have the following classes:
Tuesday 7.30-8.45/9pm in This is Yoga Blessington
Wednesday 10-11am in This is Yoga, Blessington ( break over summer)
Thursday 8.15-9.30pm in Studio 3, Naas
