Winter Respiratory & Acute Clinics - Dec 2025

Our practice is providing extra Respiratory and Acute Clinics over the winter period.
These clinics take place outside our normal surgery hours and are for patients with new or worsening respiratory symptoms including: coughs, colds, fevers and flu symptoms.

Clinic times for the coming weeks:

Monday Dec 8th 2025 from 5pm to 6pm
Thursday Dec 11th 2025 from 5pm to 6pm
Monday Dec 15th 2025 from 5pm to 6pm
Thursday Dec 18th 2025 from 5pm to 6pm

Clinics are pre - booked by phoning reception on 052 7441364.

We will update this page weekly with the latest clinic times.

The Annual FLU VACCINE will be availble in the Surgery from Tuesday September 23rd 2025.

We will be running FLU Clinics on certain days throughout the coming months.
The first Flu Clinic will take place on Tuesday September 23rd from 3pm to 5pm.

The following groups are eligible for the HSE free Flu Vaccine in 2025/2026

•All Children aged 2 - 17 years at the time of vaccination •Persons aged 60 and older
•Pregnant women ( at any stage of pregnancy )

Those aged 18 - 59 years with:
Chronic heart disease including acute coronary syndrome
Chronic liver disease
Chronic neurological disease including multiple sclerosis, hereditary and degenerative disorders of the central nervous system
Chronic Renal Failure
Cancer Patients
Chronic respiratory disease, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cystic fibrosis, moderate or severe asthma or bronchopulmonary dysplasia
Diabetes Mellitus
Down Syndrome
Haemoglobinopathies
Immunosuppression due to disease or treatment, including asplenia or splenic dysfunction and cancer patients
Morbid Obesity
On long-term aspirin therapy
With any condition that can compromise respiratory function especially those attending special schools/day centres
With moderate to severe neurodevelopmental disorders such as cerebral palsy and intellectual disability

•Healthcare workers including all General Practice and pharmacy staff
•Residents of nursing homes and other long stay institutions
•Carers and household contacts of people with increased medical risk
•People with regular contact with pigs, poultry or water fowl.

Some Practice News:

We are really sorry to say goodbye to Margaret ( Mags) O’Keeffe who is retiring today from Market Yard Surgery.

This is great news for Margaret but we are sorry to lose such a valued member of the team.

Margaret has been with us for over 22 years and had a great relationship with all our patients.

We wish her well for the next chapter of her life.

She will be sorely missed.
