A fantastic memorable day in St Martha’s yesterday hosting our Annual Christmas party and celebrating our 40th Anniversary 🎉🎉
We were delighted to welcome staff,ex staff ,families ,neighbours and friends to join us for the celebrations.
The residents were buzzing with excitement from early morning waiting for the party to start and they thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon of fun, music and dance and watching the slide show of photos over the years.📸
Thanks to Brendan Healy Artisan Butcher for a beautiful barbecue and to the very talented Dee Morrissey for the fabulous music as always.
Thanks so much for all the messages of congratulations and good wishes and to those who sent flowers it really is much appreciated.Thanks to Mattie McGrath TD for the presentation of a lovely framed certificate .
A special word of thanks to our amazing staff for all their help and support in planning the event and to Kay for her spectacular display of cakes n buns.

Our Annual Christmas Party is taking place this Friday 12th December from 2 pm to 4 pm.
We are also celebrating a very special event on that day as St Martha’s under the management of Jim & Teresa O’Connell(Anthony’s parents) first opened its doors to its first two residents 40 years ago in 1985.
We look forward to celebrating 40 wonderful years of care,friendship and dedication in the community and we invite families,friends,staff,neighbours and our local community to join us on the day.
We were also delighted to receive a special letter from our new president of Ireland during the week.🎉🎉

October has been busy in St Martha’s continuing with our daily activities/exercise programme and going for walks outside,voting in the recent Presidential Election and decorating the home for Halloween 🍁👻🎃
A wonderful music session with Cahir’s men shed was enjoyed by all and our special little visitor Sarah entertained the residents throughout.
This morning the residents created beautiful pumpkin flower arrangements for our Annual Halloween afternoon tea party tomorrow 🎃💐🌼

On Thursday we had a very enjoyable afternoon going down memory lane with Seanchai Tim Joe McGrath with lots of stories and poetry and then we all relaxed with some beautiful Mocktails/Smoothies prepared by Cathriona and Gemma and they were very appropriately named as ‘Golden Years Glow’, ‘Marthalisious Berries’,
‘Aging Gracefully’🍹
On Friday our week long Celebrations concluded with a fantastic music session with the very talented Dee Morrissey and afterwards our afternoon tea was enjoyed by all with beautiful home baking prepared by Kay.🧁🍰
A massive thank you to each member of staff for all their hard work and dedication in making it a memorable week for all the residents.
Thanks also to all our entertainers and to everyone who donated vintage implements for our display this week.

Day 2 & 3 of Nursing Homes Week have been jam packed with events.
On Tuesday the residents enjoyed a food themed quiz which had everyone chatting about various food topics and all the residents enjoyed their pancakes after.
Today Margaret gave a fantastic demonstration of home made black & white puddings which was thoroughly enjoyed by all and some of the residents were delighted to assist and this was followed by a demonstration of making BlackBerry Jam and a reminiscence session of food traditions and we discussed the use of our vintage cooking implements that are displayed all week.
This afternoon some of the residents and staff were delighted to attend the Bansha Agricultural Show and meet lots of locals and friends from the community.A wonderful afternoon spent visiting lots of stalls.enjoying the musical entertainment and we were thrilled to meet the Liam Mcarthy Cup💙💛A big thanks to Margaret for the wonderful food demonstrations and to everyone involved in Bansha Show for making it another great day

There was great excitement this morning as residents and staff headed off early and enjoyed a fabulous relaxing cruise on the River Shannon & Lough Derg🛳️
A perfect sunny day to enjoy the spectacular scenic views along the way.
A special thanks to Thomas & Staff who gave us a very warm welcome to the beautiful Lakeside Hotel for afternoon tea which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.Thanks to all the staff for their help and support and for making it another memorable trip with lots of fun and laughter😀☀️
