Roaccutane Clinic

Callan Medical Centre is pleased to offer a new specialised Roaccutane clinic for the treatment of moderate to severe acne that has not responded to standard therapies.

The clinic will be led by Dr Emma O Keeffe, GP with a special interest in Dermatology.

The clinic is suited to patients who suffer from moderate to severe acne, acne that causes scarring and acne that is persistent, not responding to antibiotics or topical treatments and affecting confidence or quality of life.

The 45 min consultation offers comprehensive skin assessment, review of previous acne treatments, discussion around benefits and potential side effects of Roaccutane, blood tests and advice on skincare and management of side effects.

The initial consultation fee for this appointment is €150, with follow up consultations at €125. A discounted fee of €100 is offered to patients who have a valid medical card. Patients will require monthly monitoring while on Roaccutane and treatment usually lasts 4-6 months.

Clinics are held on Wednesday mornings.

At Callan Medical Centre, we now offer a dedicated Menopause and Perimenopause Clinic providing comprehensive, evidence-based care for women experiencing hormonal changes and menopausal symptoms. The clinic is led by Dr Emma O’Keeffe, a general practitioner with a special interest in women’s health,
offering a personalised and holistic approach to menopause care.

Your appointment will include blood tests, ECG, bone health assessment, breast exam if appropriate, review of menstrual and hormonal history, assessment of pelvic floor and continence issues, detailed medical and symptom assessment with discussion of treatment options including HRT, and advice on lifestyle, diet, and bone health.

Clinic Fees
• Initial consultation: €180
• Follow-up consultations: €125
• GMS patients: €60

Appointments can be booked by contacting reception at Callan Medical Centre (056 7725237). The clinic is held on Wednesday mornings between 9:00am and 12:30pm.
