A quick reminder that the injury clinic is running at the following times:

Monday: 9am - 12pm
Tuesday: 9am-12pm & 12pm-3pm
Thursday: 9am-12pm & 2pm-5pm
Friday: 9am-12pm

An appointment is one hour long and can be made by emailing SportsInjuryClinic@itcarlow.ie or calling 059 917988.

The cost is €10 per appointment with a cap of €50 per injury (ie. after 5 follow up appointments). The clinic is free of charge for students and staff in the Health Science courses.

Referrals from the Barrow Center are also free of charge once a referral slip is presented.

This clinic is not solely for sports related injuries, any injuries, aches or pains can be assessed and treated!

Athletic Therapy focuses on the prevention, assessment and diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. In other words, if you’ve injured a muscle, bone or joint, or simply what to reduce your risk of getting injured, seeing an Athletic Therapist may be for you!

Certified Athletic Therapists also provide on-field first aid/emergency care, and are highly skilled in a variety of treatment modalities such as:
• soft-tissue manual therapy,
• articular manual therapy,
• electrotherapy,
• heat therapy,
• cryotherapy,
• strapping/taping,
• injury prevention screening, and
• exercise prescription (reconditioning programmes, injury prevention programmes, return-to-sport programmes, flexibility programmes, etc.).
