This May, the Slí WorkAbility Programme is running Job Shadow Day, and we’re inviting local employers to get involved.

Job Shadow Day is a brilliant opportunity to welcome someone into your workplace for a short, supported experience. It helps participants build confidence, learn about different roles, and gain valuable insight into working life — while employers get the chance to make a real, positive impact in their community.

🌟New Five‑Day Training Menu at Slí WorkAbility, Inishowen🌟

We’re excited about our expanded five‑day‑per‑week training offer at Slí WorkAbility, creating more ways for people aged 16+ with additional needs to build skills, confidence and pathways into work, learning and independence.

Delivered by Spraoi agus Spórt, the new Spring/Summer programme builds on the innovative My Slí programme and now includes a wide menu of stand‑alone, flexible options, including:

✅ CV building
✅ Hospitality training
✅ Creative craft skills
✅ Driver theory support
✅ Supported study space
✅ Flexible employment drop‑in sessions

💬 “This new five‑day training menu is about giving people real choice — access to support, skills and opportunities in a way that works for them,” says John Peto, Operations Manager, Spraoi agus Spórt.

💬 “Participants aren’t just attending courses — they’re building confidence, connections and a clearer sense of where they want to go next,” adds Ciaran Gallagher, WorkAbility Co‑ordinator.

📍 Programmes run Monday to Friday from the Slí Building, Bridgetown, Carndonagh.

April is Autism Awareness Month 💙
At Slí WorkAbility, this month is about more than awareness — it’s about understanding, acceptance, and meaningful inclusion in everyday life and in the workplace.
We recognise that autism is not a one-size-fits-all experience. Every individual we support brings their own strengths, talents, and perspectives. Our role is to create opportunities where those strengths can be recognised, developed, and valued.
Through our programmes, we support young people to build confidence, develop skills, and explore pathways into employment — while working with employers to create inclusive environments where people can truly thrive.
Inclusion doesn’t have to be complicated. Small, thoughtful adjustments can make a lasting difference.
