A huge thank you to everyone who donated, attended, helped organise, baked, served tea, and supported this special day. Your kindness, generosity and community spirit made this event such a wonderful success.

Together, we are making a real difference for those living with dementia and their families.

From darkness into the light ✨

At Carnew Nursing Home, we were proud and honoured to take part in the “Darkness Into the Light” event alongside our residents, staff, families, and community members of and surrounding areas.

This meaningful event reminds us all of the importance of hope, support, kindness, and standing together through difficult times. Every step taken today was a step towards awareness, compassion, and brighter days ahead.

A sincere thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and helped make this event so special. We are proud to be part of a community that continues to care for and uplift one another. 💛

Yesterday at Carnew Nursing Home, we were honoured to share a very special and deeply personal poem written by one of our own staff members, Dan, our Activity Coordinator.

“My Grandad” tells the story of his journey with Alzheimer’s through the eyes of love, memories, patience and family connection. It is something he carried in his heart for many years, waiting for the right moment to share it with others. Yesterday, Dan found the courage to do so.

We would like to thank Dan for trusting us with such a personal part of his life and for allowing this powerful message to be shared with the Carnew Nursing Home community.
