Practising chair yoga and movement with the Corryeolus Women’s Group in Breffni FRC.
We explored balance, hand and knee movements to combat painful joints, used spiky balls for myofascial release, as well as breathwork practice (ujayi breathing) and meditation to finish. There were also a few laughs along the way -the best part of practising together 😊😍😊.

Research on Movement Observation in Chronic Upper-Limb Pain

We are looking for individuals who have been experiencing pain for more than 3 months in their upper limb(s) e.g., hand, arm and/or shoulder due to for example fractures and sprains, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tennis Elbow, Rheumatoid Arthritis, or any other upper-limb pain that has lasted for over 3 months.

You will be asked about your experience with pain and movements and to view short video clips of different movements. You will be asked to make some judgements about the videos and to answer some questions about yourself and your pain experiences. This research could lead to a deeper understanding of movement-related difficulties in chronic pain.

The study will take approximately 45 minutes of your time, and as compensation, you will be entered into a prize draw to win one out of three £50 vouchers.

Criteria:
· English fluency sufficient to understand task instructions
· Age 18 or above
· Normal or corrected-to-normal vision.
· Chronic pain in one of your upper-limbs (for 3+ months)
· A computer device and stable internet connection (phone/tablet are not supported)

Starting Thursday week, Nov 6th in Breffni FRC, Ck. €30 for 6 weeks.
This class is suitable for people looking for a gentle way to move, breathe and find balance.
If you are a wheelchair user, have a chronic health condition, have had an injury and want to start moving gently again, or you don’t want to have to get up and down from the floor, then this class is for you!
We’ll practice joint freeing movements, balancing movements, relaxation techniques and mindfulness.
Come along to meet others, move more and feel better 😊.

Accessibility Info:
class is taking place in the cabin which is wheelchair accessible via a ramp.
There are parking spaces available within 10metres.
There is a wheelchair accessible toilet available in the main building of Breffni FRC. There is also a smaller toilet available in the cabin.
Yoga equipment is provided.
