Have you been putting up with niggles and twinges ? If so then you are not alone, many of us regularly have such twinges and they often ease with a short time.
Unfortunately some of these niggles don't ease on their own and linger and these can be difficult to get relief from. I have been treating these for over 20 years and most people do not need long extended treatments. Most people need a few treatments and some simple exercises for a short few weeks.
The best way to get in touch with my is by phone 087 917 7156 where we can discuss how i can help you or you can arrange treatment via website where there is more information on services available on website https://monaghanlymphclinic.ie/

I look forward to helping you in getting you back to recovery and back to enjoying life and freedom of pain free movement.

Shockwave is non invasive, non surgical procedure used by athletes and non athletes for injuries and painful conditions. Shockwave therapy uses pulse like pressure waves that are delivered using hand held device by trained medical practitioners.

Shockwave therapy treats shoulder pain, back pain, patellar knee pain, tennis and golfers elbow, plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis, medial tibia stress syndrome and shin splints.

low back injuries is one of the most common injuries i see as an osteopath in clinic and not all are from runners. long periods of sitting, repetitive jobs, being static or standing still for long periods is not helpful in maintaining a healthy low back.

For runners low back control and pelvic control in of vital importance. A weak low back or pelvic area in a poor foundation and from that very little works well.

The main areas that causes low back pain are
1. MUSCULAR - symptoms include spasm - tight feeling in lower back on mostly 1 side but not always.

2. FACET JOINTS - these are joints of low back that allows bending, twisting side bending and rotation of upper body.
- Symptoms are from running downhills
- Leaning backwards
- Prolonged standing
- Referral into buttock / gluteus muscles is common

3. SACROILIAC JOINTS - this is the bones between your pelvis and transfers force from pelvis to upper body on running. This joint is supported by ligaments and muscles.
Symptoms include
- tightness and soreness on low back muscles
- rarely can you remember an activity that caused injury
- can feel like a lazy leg or dragging leg behind you

4. DISCS - Discs are cushions that sit between your spinal bones and create space for joints to move and space for nerves.
- Symptoms are
- lower back pain worse on bending forwards or from sitting too long
- pins and needles, numbness , tingling or weakness can occur
- painful cough or sneeze can bring on symptoms

5. NERVES - the nerves exit from the spine and branches come out of spine to wind down the leg.
Symptoms are
- nerves give off pins and needles, burning sensations, numbness, weak muscles, achy feeling in lower leg(s)
- Typically the nerve can be irritated the most obvoius example is from disc bulge pressing the nerve.

Why did i get into Osteopathy . Following years in training in gyms and becoming a fitness and personal trainer, I have seen many people coming in with varies injuries from acute to chronic pains i found that those people were given mostly prescriptive treatments and not tailored to their specific complaint. This struck me as not right as surely not every persons complaint (i.e. back pain) needed the same set of exercises as they came from different causes.

My WHY i got into Osteopathy is i passionately believe in what is do and that Osteopathy is not just a profession but a service and people need to have their interests at the centre of treatment. Each person gets my full attention as i limit myself to a specific number of patients each day and the patient is at the centre of treatment.

Osteopathy is not just to help with new or old stains or injuries, having you the patient at centre of care is paramount in Osteopathy. Having a twinge that doesn't go away in 2 or 3 days with stretches could be the sign of something that may need some maintenance to get you back to full activity.

What is the difference between osteopathic massage and osteopathic treatment ?

PRICE €70.00 for 75 minutes treatment massage.

Osteopathy Massage is a good option for those who respond well to massage, stretching and are looking for of a more "all over body" holistic osteopathy approach rather than just focus on any one specific ailment of condition.
Osteopathic Massage is also ideal if you're in need of a general treatment for non-specific aches, pains, and muscle fatigue - rather than an all in depth osteopathic treatment for specific injury.
If you have a specific injury then the traditional Osteopathic treatment is the best option for you. This traditional Osteopathic treatment involves a comprehensive assessment with case history with clinical examination and individual treatment including joint mobilization, soft tissue stretching and exercise prescription.
Please ask your Osteopath which chpice is best for you

Not at this time of year lymphatic massage is highly beneficial in giving relief for sinus problems and allergy relief.
