The recovery from time spent in ICU can be a long process. The treatment from a chartered physiotherapist helps patients in building back their strength and endurance to be able to return to their everyday lives πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

We are currently carrying out appointments by doing home visits. We do as much of the verbal assessment over the phone as possible, rigorous cleaning of equipment, temperature taken on arrival at the house and masks worn by the physio and the patient throughout the appointment. There is no extra cost for travel.

I am now doing a small number of house calls with the following procedures in place:

- The verbal assessment is done over the phone
- Temperature is taken with infrared thermometer at start of appointment
- Physio and patient both wear masks
- Details are kept on contact tracing log for 28 days

I am CORU registered, a member of ISCP and have public liability insurance in place.

Hi all! Hope everyone is keeping safe and healthy (both physically and mentally). Just a quick update on what's happening. I had given up my room in The Movement before going on maternity leave, with a view to maybe set up a bit nearer to home. However I did not foresee a worldwide pandemic being on the cards! I do not feel, with all this going on, that now is the time to take on a new premises. Therefore I will be holding off on opening the physiotherapy business back up until things settle down.

I do hope to restart my Friday evening Pilates class if there is enough interest in the class! This will most likely be at the beginning of August. I will be contacting my regular attendees first to offer them places and go from there. Having discussed the setup with members of the team at Bonco, there will be a few changes:
- class would need to start at 5:45 and finish at 6:30 to avoid any crossover with the next class
- attendees would need to bring their own mat
- hand sanitisation will be provided for entry and exit of the room
- the room will be laid out to ensure 2 metre social distancing between each participant of the class.

For anyone who is interested in the class but has not come before, please feel free to contact me on 0833572192 or here on Facebook :)

Such a great facility to be able to avail of, especially at this time. I can personally recommend this physio!

A common misconception among patients with osteoarthritis is that it is harmful or damaging to exercise. However the right exercise can be so helpful!

Advice to rest and avoid pain is commonly provided to people with knee and other joint pains - advice that is often wrong, and harmful.
