So many people have shame around eating, feel guilty when they eat treats, have difficulties when it comes to nourishing their bodies or maybe they are too embarrassed to eat in front of other people. They might know the calorific value of foods but have little idea of the nutritional values. Maybe there's a "Good and Bad" list running through their mind whenever they see food without realising that a lot of food facts are outdated. But, even bigger than that, is how people see themselves and their own bodies. The judgements of the inner critic can be extremely harsh and people have such shame and guilt that they never talk about it.. or say things like, "I feel so guilty! I had a big piece of chocolate cake - I dread to think how many calories were in it. I'll have to be good now for a month !" If you're struggling with body or food shame and you'd like to change your relationship with food and your body please reach out to me. There's also a full list of IPE trained and registered MIND BODY EATING COACHES on http://psychologyofeating.com (IPE - Institute for the Psychology of Eating)
