Desmond Rugby 42 – Dungarvan RFC 12

A brilliant away performance from our U18.5s on Saturday saw them claim a resounding Pan Munster Cup victory in Dungarvan. On a perfect day for rugby, Desmond started strongly with early penalties from Darragh O’Keeffe before tries from Danny O’Doherty and Cathal Byrne helped build momentum and control heading into half-time.

The second half belonged firmly to Desmond Rugby, with the backs cutting loose and the forwards continuing to dominate. A superb cross-field kick from Jake O’Brien set up Fionn Byrne for a well-taken try, before Byrne added another and further scores followed as the pressure told. Tyler McCoy rounded off the scoring with a powerful finish under the posts.

Defensively, the team was outstanding throughout, with Cillian O’Sullivan delivering a huge Man of the Match performance in midfield, while Darragh O’Keeffe produced a masterclass from the tee. A complete team effort and a long journey home made all the sweeter by a top-class performance 👏
