Valentine's £1,000 Draw
Hello folks, we are postponing our draw that has been the vision of our wonderful volunteer Marie Ward as we are still waiting on returns that have gone out. And so in the interest of all things being fair, we have decided to give everyone who has bought a ticket but not had the chance to return their sheets - the best chance to win. We are now hosting the draw on Sunday 6th April in The Maldron Hotel at our Dementia Friendly Easter Dance. We are hoping that this will be a live draw so watch this space.
Thank you so much to Marie for all her hard work to date and to everyone who has bought tickets so far. 🤩🥳

Christmas Bingo Night for OLT - Loving Life Living Longer Programme
We had a fantastic night with the fabulous Micky Doherty for our Christmas Bingo. We had some great prizes and a big thanks to Vogue competitions for adding so generously to the Bingo pot. Micky sang and danced the night away. And some people going home with a lovely lift for Christmas.

Melodies and Memories

A MUSIC GROUP FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA, FAMILY MEMBERS/FRIENDS & OLDER MEMBERS OF SOCIETY

Fiona Logue leads the music group Melodies & Memories, based in the Foyle area primarily for people living with dementia or other memory issues, their family members and friends. The group has also in recent years been welcoming older members of the community who like to sing, enjoy a cuppa and a bit of craic. Group singing is the one thing in life where feeling better is pretty much guaranteed at the end of a session! It is not only an enjoyable activity but can also provide a way for people living with dementia, along with their family members or friends, to express themselves and socialise with others in a fun, stimulating, relaxed and supportive environment.
Do I need to be good at singing to join?
• No – everyone is welcome, whether you already sing or not, and you don't need to read music.
What sort of songs do we sing?
• We sing a large range of songs from different eras, musical styles and traditions.

Call for carers to test new app to support well being
Our friends at Ulster University are looking for carers to test a new app that will help support well being. In our busy lives, especially if we are caring for someone it is hard to find time to look after ourselves. This new app will collect information that allows the user to monitor their own health and well being and then enable them to make adjustments to support themselves. Sometimes small changes can make a big difference.
As always, there is a small reward in the form of voucher linked to your level of participation.
To register for the study please click on the link below: or scan the QR code.
