Today marks a major milestone in palliative care services. Tánaiste Simon Harris TD and Niamh Smyth TD turned the sod for the new hospice inpatient unit at St. Christopher's Hospice. This hospice will provide much needed palliative care services to the communities of Cavan and Monaghan.

John Magee joined Deirdre Donnelly recently on her Podcast ‘Chats With Dee’ to discuss the ‘Off the Grid’ fundraiser in aid of St Christopher’s Hospice, Cavan & Monaghan.

'Chats With Dee Podcast' – Promoting physical, mental and emotional health. Topics will include mindfulness, stress management, health, lifestyle choices and personal development. Episodes may include expert advice, practical tips for self-care and discussions on overcoming challenges to live a balanced, fulfilling life. Over €30k raised at Gallant Challenge.

The 19th annual Gallant Challenge has raised over €30,000 so far, with donations still coming in.

St. Christopher’s Hospice, Cavan providing residential nursing and day care for persons suffering from chronic or terminal illness.

This Friday evening (8th November) John Magee (The Condor Team) plans to inhabit an island in the Lough Oughter area of North Cavan and go 'OFF THE GRID' until Sunday as part of a fundraiser in aid of St Christopher's Hospice, Cavan & Monaghan.

On Friday evening 8th November, John Magee (The Condor Team) plans to inhabit an island in the Lough Oughter area of North Cavan until Sunday 10th November, as part of a fundraiser in aid of St Christopher's Hospice, Cavan & Monaghan. The following weekend Sean O’Flaherty will be inhabiting the same island from Friday 15th until Sunday 17th November with just basic equipment.

Their task is to stay on an island, selected by Cavan Adventure Centre. They will have no idea of its exact location. During their stay they will be without any form of communication, including mobile phones, timekeeping devices, no tents and just rely on improvised shelter to live 'OFF THE GRID'.

The Adventure Centre staff will bring the 'Condor Team' to the island and collect them on completion. Best of luck boys!
