Welcome back 🙌🫶
One of the most special parts of running a yoga studio isn’t the poses we practice — it’s the people who fill the room ❤️
Today we welcomed back Lidia, who was away for a few months recovering from an injury. Lidia has been practicing with me since the very early days of my teaching journey. The first studio I ever taught in was Noeleen Shannon Yoga Tree Frog Studio (I have lovely memories from this and it’s where my friendship with Noeleen began), and that’s where Lidia first came to class. Over the years she continued to show up to my classes in the different spaces I taught in, long before I ever opened Align ✨
I left a little note and a chocolate on her mat — by now everyone has their own favourite spot in the studio 😅
It was a small gesture to show how much she was missed and how grateful we are to have her back.
In Anusara Yoga we talk a lot about connection and Kula — community — and that really is the heart of the studio. It’s the chats between students before class, the familiar faces, the little catch-ups about life. It’s the warm welcome at reception, a smile when you walk through the door, and the feeling that you can just arrive exactly as you are that day 🌅
Then we roll out our mats beside each other and, for that hour, we come together for one shared practice — breathing, moving, and supporting each other in the space. And there are often some laughs too 😅
Moments like today remind me how grateful I am for everyone who practices in the studio and that yoga is so much more than the shapes we make. It’s the people, the connections, and the community that grows over time.
So lovely to have you back on your mat Lidia — you were truly missed 🫶
If you’ve been thinking about coming to class, this is your reminder that there’s always a place for you here. Just bring yourself, roll out a mat, and join us 🥰
Tell me - what part of coming to the studio do you enjoy the most?
