Susan (Phil) Scott (nee McQuillan), Resident of Virginia Health Care Centre and late of Knockateggart, Stradone and Bailieborough, Co. Cavan. Monday, August 25th, peacefully in her 90th year, in the loving care of the staff of Medical Five, Cavan General Hospital, following a short illness. Predeceased by her parents, brother Frank and sisters Teresa and Maureen.

Phil will be sadly missed by her family members, neighbours, friends and staff and carers of Virginia Health Care Unit Nursing Home.

Reposing at Clarke’s Funeral Home, Bailieborough on Thursday from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm. Removal on Friday to arrive at St. Michael’s Church, Clifferna, for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to St. Vincent De Paul, in care of the undertaker.

Vera Lynch (née Monahan), Lavey, Co. Cavan and late of Cootehill and Glasnevin, Co. Dublin
Saturday, August 2nd 2025, peacefully in her 99th year in the tender care of Castlemanor Nursing Home. Predeceased by her dearly beloved husband Patrick.

Fondly remembered and sadly missed by her loving family, Patricia (Jack), Joe (Phil), Carol (Padraic), Owen (Kathleen), Eamon (Sheila), Cecilia (Patrick), Donal (Kath), her much loved grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

PJ Smith, Drumcalpin, Tullyco, Cootehill, Co. Cavan. Thursday, July 24th, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Mary, and his sister Gretta.

Deeply regretted by his beloved son Peter and daughter Deirdre (Shane), and fondly remembered by his cherished grandchildren Holly and Rían. Sadly missed by his brothers and sisters: Sean (Imelda), Eileen, Tom (Teresa), Kathleen (Pauric), Ann (Pat), Teresa (Paul), Oliver, Delia, Noel (Aine), and Paul (Catherine); his aunt Suey (Birmingham), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours, and many friends.

Laurence (Larry) Smyth, Knocknagillagh, New Inns, Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan. Thursday, July 3rd, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, in his 94th year. Predeceased by his son Kevin and daughter-in-law Peggy.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Anna, son Feilim and daughters Patricia and Martina. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by his grandchildren Olivia (Eugene), Nicola, Evanne (Gavin), Dwayne (Artressa), Regina (Thomas), Karla, Dominic, Niall, Ciara, Clare, Niamh, Holly, Carrie and Aifric, great grandchildren Sofia, Jaxon, Ayda and Azayis, sons-in-law Eugene and Liam, nieces, nephews, brother-in-law Michael Leddy and his wife Maisie, relatives and friends.

Peacefully at Cavan General Hospital in his 90th year. Predeceased by his parents, brothers Andy, Michael and Jimmy and grand-daughter Ciara Lee. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Rose and his children Martina (Donal McKenna), Anna (Larry Lee), Sean, Feidhlim and Amanda (Richard O' Reilly). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Jason, Conor, Darragh, Dylan, Eoghan, Sean, Felix and Juliet, sisters Mary Coss (Dublin), Teresa McAllister (Dublin), Ann Rossiter (Wicklow), and Margaret Fitzpatrick (Milltown), sister-in-law Tess, brothers-in-law Ray, Andy and Francie, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

John Doughty, Harrow, Middlesex and late of Cormeen, Stradone and Cavan Road, Virginia, Co. Cavan. Wednesday, December 25th, died peacefully in Middlesex.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Kitty and son Michael Edward, his parents Edward & Mary Ann and siblings Tom, Barbara and Baby Josephine.
