I've had lots of questions following my stories over the weekend on ditching chemicals in the home so I wanted to make a post on it. I've been on a journey to remove nasty chemicals from my home for a few years now and these are just a few things that you could look at if you want to do the same 🩷
🌿 Artificial Fragrance - Alot of Fragrance that is found in candles, shop bought reed diffusers and air fresheners contain synthetic chemicals that are harmful to our health. Some of these chemicals are hormone disruptors and carcinogenic. Essential oils and mist diffusers are a great way to add natural fragrance to our homes instead but care should be taken to ensure the right oils are used that suit everyone in your home. Especially anyone with medical conditions, children and pets.
🌿 Laundry Products - Did you know that washing detergent and dryer sheets are some of the most toxic products in our homes. An easy way to switch out toxins from your laundry routine is with a non toxic laundry detergent and some wool dryer balls.
🌿 Cleaning Products - Cleaning products are something we use every day in our homes and sometimes around our children and pets but again these contain many harmful chemicals that can cause headaches, respiratory issues or more serious health concerns if ingested. I have been using a natural cleaning concentrate in my home for 4 years now and it works so well on surfaces and is safe around my children and pets. I recently ran out and used regular cleaner while waiting for my order and my headaches returned and were so bad!!
🌿 Many products that we use on our bodies every day can also be causing us harm. Things like femine products, deodorant, body lotions can all contain nasty chemicals. There are lots of more natural options on the market these days but be sure to check the ingredients before handing over your money to ensure they are right for you.
