Due to the arrival of Storm Éowyn and the severe weather conditions expected, Cratloe Nursing Home will be closed to all visits on Friday for the safety of all. We will reassess as the weather progresses and the national weather warning is lifted.

📢 Important Update: Reopening of Visits 📢

We are pleased to announce that visits to Cratloe Nursing Home will resume from today, Friday 10th/01/2025 owing to the thaw of the bad weather.
As winter illnesses such as the flu, norovirus, COVID-19, and other seasonal viruses peak — especially with schools reopening — we are taking proactive steps to reduce the risk of transmission within our home to ensure the continued safety of our residents, staff, and visitors during this time of heightened illness in the community, the following guidelines will apply:

1. Limited to Two Visitors per Resident – All visits must be pre-booked in advance.

2. Appointments Only – Visits will be scheduled through our reception team/Nursing team to ensure availability.

3. Dedicated Visit Locations – Visits will take place in either the Visitors’ Room or the resident’s bedroom, depending on availability.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we prioritize everyone’s health and well-being.
Presently - hospitals throughout the country are struggling with the seasonal illnesses. Being proactive and not reactive allows us to safeguard our most vulnerable.

We regret to inform all family members and visitors that due to the current severe weather conditions, including significant snowfall, icy roads, and hazardous travel throughout the region, all visits to Cratloe Nursing Home are suspended effective immediately until further notice.

This decision prioritizes the safety of our residents, visitors, and staff. We understand that this may be disappointing, but minimizing travel is essential to reduce risks during this adverse weather. ⚠️

Here’s how we will support communication during this time:

📲Phone and Video Calls: We are happy to assist residents in connecting with loved ones through phone and video calls. Please contact us to arrange a virtual visit.

ℹ️Regular Updates: Our team will continue to provide care updates as needed.

We will closely monitor weather conditions and announce any changes as soon as it is safe to resume visits.

📢🕕🎅 UPDATE RE: OFFICE HOURS 🎅🕕📢

Our management and administration offices will be closed from Monday the 23rd December 2024 until 2nd January 2025 inclusive.

Our nursing home remains open and operational during this period, and all enquiries can be passed onto the Nurse In Charge, who will endeavour to help with any queries in the interim.

As we welcome this magical time of year, we want to extend our warmest wishes to all our residents, their families, and friends near and far. Christmas is a season of love, connection, and cherished moments.

To ensure everyone enjoys a peaceful and safe festive period, we kindly ask you to keep the following in mind during your visits:
💖 Visiting Hours: Visits are from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM daily. We ask that families book their visits in advance.
Please avoid arriving before 10:30 AM, as mornings are precious times when we help our residents prepare for the day. Your understanding allows us to provide them with the care and dignity they deserve.

We know how much your visits mean to you and your loved ones alike, and we want to make sure each visit is as meaningful as possible. By working together, we can uphold a safe, warm, and welcoming atmosphere for 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞.

💖 As winter has well and truly arrived, so has illness in the wider community. With colds, flu, covid-19 and the winter vomiting bug (norovirus) being prevalent during this time of the year, we would kindly ask that anyone who is feeling unwell prior to their visit, reschedule it for when you are feeling better again. We ask this to protect our most vulnerable residents.
