🙏 This is not about us watching something on YouTube with our children when they are supervised.

This might be an unpopular opinion and this post/episode is not to judge, but we feel awareness is key if we’re allowing our children to have unsupervised access to YouTube & also we want to shed some light on rapid cuts. We have seen a lot of adverse mental health effects in our private practices and want to help parents to make informed choices.

I’ve been working with SNAs, schools & children with additional needs for many years now & things are so hard as it is. And I an a former teacher myself. There are elements of this new circular that are really hard to believe.

The circular talks about schools demonstrating “good practice” as part of reviews, but no national training ensures teachers/SNAs know what NCSE considers good practice.

Schools in wealthier areas may have better access to CPD, while under-resourced schools may get penalised for lacking training they were never offered.

I get that this isn’t easy to try to make right but there is so much in this that isn’t relevant or workable in practice when you’re in classrooms working with children.
