Controversial opinion from a stylist ↓
Most styling advice doesn't work - and it's not your fault ❤️
It's not because you're buying the wrong things, or not trying hard enough. it's because almost all wardrobe advice starts with WHAT to buy… and skips the most important question: WHY.
We buy clothes to feel something (or avoid feeling something). When that feeling doesn't show up (or fades fast) we assume we bought the wrong thing. So we buy again, and the cycle continues.
The real issue?
Most advice treats style like a formula: buy the white shirt, build the capsule wardrobe, follow the list...
But you don't have the same body, life, or personality as the person who made that list ✨
What actually works is starting with HOW you want to feel, and the words you’d want someone to use to describe your style.
Sophisticated. Eclectic. Natural. Unexpected. Feminine. Yours.
when you know that? Everything gets easier. The edit, the shopping, the getting dressed in the morning.
if you've ever stood in front of a full wardrobe and felt like you have nothing to wear - it's not a you problem. it's a framework problem.
