Hi guys, Jenni here, I rarely post, but for anyone who knows me, they know I am passionate about what I do and sometimes things people say or post, especially other professionals really trigger me.
I read a post where another health professional called someone out as dossing ( yes, he actually used the word dossing) for taking some time off from the gym over the summer. And that for me was a red rag to a bull.
How dare you! The arrogance of you.
The gym isn't the be all and end all. Taking time off from something is often beneficial and a healthy choice. Not something to be name called for.
I took time off from training this summer, not because I was dossing, but because I had to sacrifice my time in the gym, which I use for both my physical and mental wellbeing, to prioritise my work and family. As many people do. Now for anyone to turn around and say I was dossing for the summer, well I take huge offence to that. And I take huge offence on behalf of my clients who sacrificed their time in the gym to give their precious, personal time to other important things in their lives going on at any given time.
Trust me, most good, health professionals support and encourage their clients, not call them our for dossing, for taking a break.
Thanks Jenni.
