Can acupuncture succeed where medication fails? 🩺

A recent report by UIC (University of Illinois Chicago) has brought "Salutogenic" healing into the spotlight. Unlike treatments that simply mask pain, acupuncture focuses on creating health within the body.

In our latest blog post, we dive into:

✅ How fMRI shows acupuncture changing brain activity.

✅ The TCM concept of "Bu Tong Ze Tong" (No flow = Pain).

✅ Why treating "Distal Points" on the body can unlock chronic stagnation in the back and joints.

Stop managing pain and start healing. Visit www.acurodos.ie to learn how we use evidence-based protocols to help you reclaim your mobility.

Science Update: Can acupuncture needles heal wounds faster? ⚡️

New research is changing the game! Experimental acupuncture needles are now being developed to generate their own micro-currents, specifically designed to accelerate tissue repair and wound healing.

At Acurodos, we’ve always known that the body is an electrical system. By combining the "Electro-acupuncture" principles studied by pioneers like Joseph Yao with the deep anatomical precision required for modern therapy, we help our clients recover faster and feel better.

Traditional roots. Modern results.

Restoring Hope (and Sensation!) After 2 Years 👣

We recently had a patient come into the clinic who had been struggling with nerve damage in her leg for two years. Like many people, she had never tried acupuncture before and wasn’t quite sure what to expect.

After her treatment, we received this wonderful update: "Had to share with you, I have sensation in both toes this morning... oh heaven’s such an improvement."

While she noted some very slight bruising (a common and minor side effect), the return of sensation is a massive milestone for a chronic condition. We are so thrilled to be part of her journey back to 100%!

Living with chronic pain or nerve issues? You don't have to just "deal with it."

Understanding Winter Injury Mechanics through an Integrative Lens.

At Acurodos, we believe the best patient outcomes happen when Western physiological data meets Eastern functional wisdom. Our new article examines the increased risk of musculoskeletal injuries during the Irish winter, referencing recent data and the landmark work of Donald Kendall and Dr. Daniel Keown.

For practitioners: We discuss the microvascular impact of cold exposure and its correlation with "Qi Stagnation" in the fascial planes.

"Just get more sleep." 🙄 If you’ve heard this while struggling with insomnia or depression, you know it’s about as helpful as telling a drowning person to "just breathe."

In Chinese Medicine, we know that sleep and mood aren't separate issues—they are deeply connected through your body’s internal balance. When your Qi is stuck or your "Heart Shen" is restless, no amount of "early nights" will fix the root cause.

We’re breaking down the TCM connection between sleeplessness and mental health on the blog today.

Ever feel like your body is exhausted, but your mind refuses to clock out? 🌙

When insomnia and depression walk hand-in-hand, it’s rarely just a matter of "bad habits." Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) views these symptoms as signals of a deeper energetic imbalance—often involving the Liver, Heart, or Spleen systems.

At AcuRodos, we don't just treat the symptom; we treat the person. Our latest blog post explores why the standard advice fails and how acupuncture can help recalibrate your nervous system for true, restorative rest.

"You Are Not Alone." This is the central message of Eating Disorders Awareness Week Ireland. TCM teaches us that our health depends on our connection to ourselves and our community.

At AcuRodos, we believe that recovery involves more than just physical health—it’s about stabilizing the Earth Element to calm the mind and nourish the spirit.

In our new blog post, we break down:
✅ How the TCM Body Clock helps regulate daily digestion.
✅ Why warm, cooked foods are the "secret weapon" for Spleen health.
✅ An easy acupressure point (Stomach 36) for instant grounding.

🧠 Acupuncture: A Lasting Boost for Cancer Survivors' Brain Health!

We often discuss acupuncture's role in managing side effects during cancer treatment, but did you know the cognitive benefits can be long-lasting?

A new study highlighted by Targeted Oncology shows that cancer survivors treated with acupuncture reported significant and sustained improvements in symptoms like:

- Foggy thinking

- Memory problems

- Difficulty concentrating (often called 'chemobrain')

These are common, frustrating issues that can persist long after treatment ends. Acupuncture offers a natural, non-pharmacological way to help clear the fog and regain mental sharpness.

Ready to experience clarity and lasting vitality?

Book your consultation today at Acurodos Clinic and see how specialized acupuncture can support your recovery and enhance your quality of life.

First Mobile Acupuncture service in Ireland

AcuRodos - Mobile Acupuncture became reality because of the requests of patients who wanted acupuncture, but were unable to go to a clinic.

Sometimes patients are in pain and find getting in and out of a car or public transportation to be too painful. Other patients have chronic illnesses that keep them house-bound because of mobility issues, fatigue, or discomfort. Still other patients are simply unable to find the time to travel to a clinic after business hours because it’s usually closed. That’s the main reason we are here :-).

My name is Jose, a fully qualified Acupuncturist and Practitioner of Chinese Medicine. I strongly believe that disease is the consequence of an unbalanced body. The more unbalanced the body the more symptoms we see. These symptoms can present themselves in many ways, they can manifest as physical changes or as emotional and behavioral changes. These symptoms are messages your body is sending you to tell you something is not right. We need to learn to listen more to what our bodies are trying to tell us!

We prioritize the wellbeing of our patients more than anything else. All our treatments are customized integrating physical and emotional health.
