The surgery is open normal hours this week, Wednesday to Friday. There is a lot of viral illness out there at present, a lot of which does not need a doctor's review. Check out www.undertheweather.ie for excellent information and don't hesitate to contact the surgery if you remain concerned.

A lot of everyday illnesses like colds, coughs, flu, earache and sore throats don’t need an antibiotic. Learn how you can treat and look after yourself and your family when you’re sick or have a high temperature without taking antibiotics.

Christmas Opening Hours at GSS are as follows:
Surgery closes at 6pm on Friday 23rd December and re-opens on Wednesday 28th December at 9am.

There's a lot of viral illness around at the moment, most of which does not require any treatment other than the use of paracetamol etc. If in doubt, have a look at undertheweather.ie before contacting Caredoc.

Uptake of children's flu vaccine is low nationally. HSE are recommending that all children age 2-17 get a (nasal spray) vaccine. The vaccine and administration is free. You can book this vaccine through our website at www.gssdocs.com

Covid vaccination news: The HSE is now recommending a second covid booster for patients age 60 and older commencing next week. Over the following few weeks this will drop to over 55's and then over 50s.
