When you’re feeling low, it’s natural to want to pull back, avoid things, or stay in bed. These urges might feel like the easiest option in the moment. But here’s the thing — those very urges can keep your low mood stuck, making it harder to feel better over time.
CBT teaches us that small, gentle actions can help break this cycle. Even if you don’t feel like it, doing one positive thing — like stepping outside for fresh air, reaching out to a friend, or practicing a short mindfulness exercise — can start to shift your mood.
Remember, healing isn’t about big leaps; it’s about small steps forward.
