Plank pose. No more to be said. Your basically holding a push up. Good idea to help your wrists by placing your weight behind the knuckles and press up into your shoulders. Amazing hike down to the Kilm cove off Wicklow head below the stone Wicklow head lighthouse. A spectacular landscape. Snorkeling was tough after 40 degree hot yoga classes but always feel great after my sea swimming. Constant gratitude for living here and having a healthy body that's allows for such fun.

My little catuts plant I brought 3 years ago hadn't flowered since then. Now it's flowers are more numerous and spectacular than ever. At times our bodies, minds, life path might not being in flower. It doesn't mean it is dead or never going to return. It is simply waiting for the right time. Be gentle to yourself and remember to breath, drink water, be patient because you'll be flowering in your own time.

Gate pose. As you can see I'm perfectly imperfect at it in all the right ways. Functionally I have the pose perfect, aesthetically I'm not stretching far enough my tummy is showing. But this is why I love my yoga practice. It's not about how deep into a pose I can go. It's not about how perfect my body is. The point is to use the assanas to focus the mind body complex with the help of conscious breathing. Once you have performed these for a session your body and mind are calmer to allow meditation to more easily occur.

Sometimes yoga is just showing up on your mat and using your bolster.

Vrikshasana pose (Tree pose) encompasses balance and strength. This was my first yoga pose to truly find that point of meditation through asana. Malasana (yogi squat) not most people's favourite but once I managed to get both my feet planted on the ground without losing the straight spine I found a whole world in it. Anyone who has ever tried this pose knows how it burns. Anyone who has pushed past that and found themselves able to maintain it may have found a great peace in it. My simple tips tailbone down, chest open, lifting through the crown of you head and push into all of your feet.

Shanti virabhadrasana (Peaceful warrior) is another one of my favourite poses. I remember it being one of the first poses where I found myself completely in a moment in time. Not thinking of the past the future, not thinking about anything just simply being with my body, breath and quite mind. If we can find these little moments throughout the day we can free ourselves form alot of the burdens we place upon ourselves.
