A Fond Farewell and Thank You, Mary ♥️♥️♥️
Today we say a very special thank you to Mary Murray as she retires from Newport Young at Heart CLG – Newport Day Centre.
Mary has been much more than a member of staff — she has been a constant source of kindness, warmth and reassurance to our clients, and a supportive, caring colleague to everyone who had the pleasure of working alongside her. Her compassion, gentle humour and dedication have touched countless lives and helped make the Day Centre the welcoming, safe and happy place that it is.
Mary’s commitment to the wellbeing of our older people went far beyond her role. She treated everyone with dignity, respect and genuine care, and that will be her lasting legacy here.
On behalf of our clients, families, board, staff and volunteers, we thank you, Mary, for the years of service, friendship and heart you have given so generously. You will be greatly missed, but we wish you every happiness, good health and joy in this next chapter of your life.

Thank You for Visiting Newport Day Centre
We would like to sincerely thank Minister Kieran O’Donnell TD, Minister of State for Older People, for taking the time to visit Newport Young at Heart CLG – Newport Day Centre. It was a pleasure to welcome the Minister to meet and greet our clients and to engage in meaningful discussion around the growing need to increase the monthly subvention in light of rising operational costs.
We were delighted that our Chairman, Finbarr O’Shea, was present to welcome attendees and to outline the vital work of the centre and the challenges currently faced.
We also wish to acknowledge and thank those who attended in support of our service and our older community:
Cllr Fiona Bonfield, representing Alan Kelly TD; Michael Lowry TD; Ryan O’Meara TD; Cllr Pamela Quirke O’Meara; Cllr Phyll Bugler; and HSE representatives Patricia O’Gorman and Angela Frawley.

Shenanigans, laughter, song and merriment had by all at the Newport Day Care Christmas Lunch party at The Thatched Cottage Restaurant, Ballycommon. Fantastic music by Marie & Joe Byrnes, great food and service by the staff of The Thatch. Great teamwork by all the staff of the NDCC. A massive thank you to all that support us helping us to continue providing to our community. Happy Christmas!!!!🎅🏻🎄
