Forest Bathing or Shinrin-yoku is a Japanese term for taking in the forest atmosphere. A Forest Bathing experience focuses on really slowing down and engaging our senses with the natural world. It offers a series of invitations to connect with nature and immerse oneβs body and mind in the forest atmosphere.
In the 1980βs the Japanese people worked extremely long hours, had high stress levels, some had health issues and in some cases people died from overworking. The Japanese people realised that they needed to rectify this and get their people to reconnect with nature.
Benefits of Forest Bathing - Lowers stress, reduces blood pressure, improves energy and creativity, boosts the immune system and improves memory.
