"Cancer is a diagnosis that 1 in 2 people will receive in their lifetime. Cancer is diagnosed in younger and younger people every year.

Aid Cancer Treatment recognise and support essential cancer research aiming to understand and reverse these trends for people of the region and globally. Working with Aid Cancer Treatment volunteers was a fantastic and rewarding experience. Their direct connection with patients, their families and health care professionals ensures the research they support aims to achieve impact for patients with cancer. Aid Cancer Treatment volunteers are diligent, professional and have a patient first approach in every aspect of their decision making.
Their provision of flow cytometry equipment to the University College Cork, Department of Surgery, on the Cork University Hospital campus, has had immediate impact on our research assessing whether an imbalance in a patient’s immune response before or after surgery may contribute to the return of cancer after surgery. Not only is this supporting cancer research to discover new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease, it is also supporting and inspiring future generations of undergraduate and postgraduate researchers in UCC to follow suit."

We’re incredibly grateful to be supported by an amazing fundraiser this year.

Caoimhe O'Sullivan is currently training for the BMO Vancouver Marathon in May, running in memory of her uncle and in support of her mum, and raising funds for ACT along the way. The support shown so far has been nothing short of incredible.

Thank you to everyone who has donated already — and to Caoimhe for choosing ACT ❤️

We’d like to shine a light on ASR Web Services — a long-time supporter of Aid Cancer Treatment and a major contributor to our online efforts over the years.

ASR, or to be precise, Karl the founder and operator of ASR Web Services, has quietly handled much of the technical work behind our digital presence, including our website build and ongoing support and online fundraising systems.
In fact, thanks to his consistent technical support and management of our online fundraising channels, we raised over €8,000 in just 2024 alone across various platforms — a contribution that directly helps us continue our mission.

We’re also excited to share that a new website upgrade for Aid Cancer Treatment is currently in development, led once again by ASR — aiming to make our online information clearer, faster, and even easier for everyone to navigate.

Beyond fundraising and development, Karl has consistently supported us with:
• Website updates and improvements
• Reliable troubleshooting
• Clean, easy-to-use digital systems
• Fast, professional technical help whenever needed

We’ve seen ASR's work first hand — dependable, detail-focused, and genuinely committed to helping organisations thrive online.

If your business or organisation needs trusted web support, we’re happy to recommend ASR Web Services.

We would like to thank the Bengour committee for their continued support over the past 3 decades.
The Annual Bengour Harvest Festival has been a staple in the calendar for years now and as always this most recent event was hit with all in attendance.
This past week they presented a cheque for more than €22,000 to be shared between Aid Cancer Treatment and Marymount University Hospice and Breakthrough Cancer Research.
Thank You all involved.
