✨Things are getting busy over here and I’m loving every minute of it✨

Big thank you to everyone who has come for a lie down and let me work with them to find better ease in their body. And thank you for all the recommendations!!

I’ve intended for this digital space to be where I share information about the science and mysteries of our bodies and for you to get a better understanding of what I do… But let’s be real social media is a drag, so for now you can chat with me in person 🤣. And maybe look forward to more content in the future 😉

Back from a week in Cairo ✨

We went to Cairo last week to visit our friends home. With the backdrop of the pyramids and ancient Egypt we explored bustling Cairo.

We got to explore the pyramids, see Ancient Egypts Kings mummified in the civilisation museum, learn about the many Ancient Egyptian Dynasties, navigate around busy Cairo, visit lots of mosques and churches, try the local food and finally chill in the desert.

This week I’m back in action as usual.

✨ Sports Massage Level 4 ✨ done & dusted.

This one was hard earned with weekly trips to Dublin for the last 6 months. But I can honestly say it was well worth the effort. provided a fanatastic course that seriously elevated my clinic skills and reasoning. I’m recommending to any of my therapist friends who want to level up their craft.

Another big bonus has been being able to add Irish Life Health Insurance recognition. People with Irish Life can claim back €25 from their visits.

🏋️‍♀️ Active Recovery 💪

Active recovery helps keep the body mobile, alleviate soreness and helps muscles recover

Gentle activities like yoga, sauna, getting out into nature for a walk and targeted sports massage help you come back stronger to your activity.

Sports massage particularly helps reduce the risk of injury, reduce stiffness and helps you preform at an optimal level.

Whether you’re a top performing athlete, a busy mom or a keyboard-warrior reactive recovery on your “off” day makes the world of a difference.

Tingling. Numbness. Weak Grip? ✊

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome isn’t just “wrist pain” - it’s compression of the median nerve that passes through the carpal tunnel at the wrist.

But it can also be compressed further up the nerve pathway like in the forearm flexors, pronate teres, scalenes or cervical structures.

That’s why assessment matters and early intervention matters. Release the soft tissues to offload pressure on the median nerve and correct the root cause.

✨ Do you know if your muscles are short and tight? ✨

Muscle testing helps identify areas of restriction, limited range and dysfunction. Hands-on manual therapy can help restore the normal resting length of muscles and correct myofascial restrictions & adhesions. Simple but targeted tests help to rule out confusion!

Range of motions tests help us to understand if the source of your pain is coming from contractile (muscles, tendons etc.) or non-contractile (ligaments, joint capsule, cartilages, bursae etc.) tissues.

Passive, active and resisted are the primary tests to make this distinction.

Understanding the source of your sports injury or chronic pain is the key your journey to recovery.

✨Benefits of cupping therapy ✨

Cupping therapy is an ancient healing process that is now used in manual therapy to help with pain relief and to reduce inflammation.

The suction creates micro-trauma, stimulating the body’s natural healing response and promoting the release of white blood cells and anti-inflammatory chemicals to the affected area. The vacuum pressure helps loosen tight muscles and release tension.

It’s a great add on to your hands on therapy session.

I often see runners on a daily basis for sports massage, whether they are training for a marathon or working on a couch-to-5k. And they regularly tell me how sports massage helps them with their recovery.

Sports massage helps clear metabolic wastes and can reduce pain and inflammation, which is associated with muscle fatigue. As you grow stronger from running, recovery is an important part of the process.

When should runners get sports massage?
🏃 During training: every 3-4 weeks
🏃 Pre-race: 5-10 days before the race
🏃 Post-race: 3-4 days after the race

And we don’t forget the importance of proper stretching and other modalities to help with recovery
