Many people ask me before booking their first appointment if cupping therapy is painful. The answer is, cupping therapy is generally not painful. It may cause some discomfort due to the suction, but it’s typically well-tolerated and can provide numerous benefits for your well-being.
Let me walk you through the procedure step by step. During a cupping session, glass or silicone cups are applied to the skin, creating a vacuum to gently lift the skin and underlying tissues. This helps improve blood circulation and releases muscle tension. While some people may experience a slight pulling sensation, it’s not typically painful. The cups are left in place for a few minutes, and then they’re carefully removed. The resulting marks on your skin are a sign that the therapy is working to release toxins and promote healing.
It’s a safe and effective therapy, and many clients find it incredibly relaxing. If you have any more questions or concerns, feel free to ask, and I’ll be happy to address them.
