Brigid's Day Mini Retreat

First event of 2026!

And what better year to celebrate the Goddess of Fire than 2026, the year of transformation.

Transformation is ruled by fire and deeply connected to your Manipura chakra, the centre of fire in your body.

Fire is also a symbol of Brigid because she represents the hearth, around which the home and family are gathered

But she's also so much more than that. Originally, she was the goddess of healers, craftsmen, and poets. She's connected to the fertility of spring, another period of growth, when the silence of winter begins to sing with life.

Brigid carries with her, infinite potential. She gives us an opportunity to grow with change. Fire fuels that change with grit and determination

Step into spring harnessing the wisdom of the season and the alignment of the stars.

If this time of year brings you down, lean into it.

Us humans are meant to live seasonally, like any other animal.

Winter is a time for sitting comfortably with darkness.

Just as we feel compelled to stay inside in the darker days, we should also go inside our minds and feel cosy inside our bodies.

Move Your Soul-stice is an opportunity to do just that.

This Saturday 20.12.25 at 11am, we invite you to find rest and turn inward.

On the winter solstice, find the light returning within you and bring it to the surface.

Celebrate all that you've achieved during this year of rebirth and move forward into the year of change, made new

Setting up for class is about more than just laying out mats and props.

It's about creating atmosphere by HOW you lay everything out, organised and tidy, for a sound mind.

It's about warm lighting to calm your nervous system. It's about a nice temperature so students can relax.

Having the space completely set up so students can go straight into savasana without having to think about anything else. Their minds completely clear

And it's about intention. Bringing your intention and energy into the space for your teaching practice, and their yoga practice. Giving the space a blessing and acknowledging that this space is sacred - so remove the shoes from your feet for you walk on holy ground.

It's about how you hold space for them. How you support them with the sound of your voice

I teach 3 classes a week plus extra classes that I cover and private classes as well.

I'm also hosting a half day retreat on Sat 20 11 to 3pm for the Winter Solstice.

December 20th 2025 is an auspicious day. Not only is it the Winter Solstice, but it's also a New Moon. Why does this matter?

The New Moon and Winter Solstice have two things in common: darkness and new beginnings. As such, they both invite us to turn inward to meditate and sit with our own darkness gracefully and compassionately. Only to let go with gratitude and move forward with optimism and a fresh start

For on this day, the moon cycle will begin again and the sun will return more and more each day.

So this long day of darkness is actually a celebration of the light we carry both within us and outside of us

Dance is literally good for your mental health

Not only are you getting loads of endorphins, dopamine, and oxytocin, but you're also shaking off any stress or stagnant energy

Move that tension around. Let it loosen and leave your body. Let any physical and emotional tension you've been carrying melt away.

Relax your hands. Release your shoulders. Take a deep breath to relax your chest. Soften all the muscles in your face. Smile. Tell your brain it's time to be in a good mood.

And by the time you leave, you'll be feeling much better than when you came in.

Intuitive dance is a complete form of self expression. It is not something that can be choreographed or instructed. By its very nature, intuitive dance comes from within. No two dancers will be the same because its connected to your own unique body

In order to dance intuitively you must think of it as a moving meditation. Close your eyes. Tune into the natural rhythm of your breath. Clear your mind. Any thoughts that arise in your mind, notice them without judgement, let them go, and return to your breath. Tune into your body. Feel grounded through your feet. Activate your body head to toe. Synchronise your breath with movement. And begin.

There is no thinking involved. There is no right or wrong way. There is only your way. Your way to move. Your way to express.

Heal yourself with vigorous self expression through dance.
