I.... am a massive nerd. And I'm not afraid to admit it! I just love learning. And I like to get things right and know the facts. I take notes. I draw diagrams. I organise my notes categorically. And I link them back to reputable sources so myself and my clients can refer back to the research at any time

In order to learn, you must first be aware and admit that you don't know. The not knowing is your opportunity to go and find the answer.

Often, in the maternity system, the way a person's birth is handled is based on the care provider's professional opinion or preference. But opinion is not fact, and often practices are not evidence based. Things happen that were unnecessary or could've been avoided, and when birthing people don't know the evidence based info, it's harder for them to make informed decisions

As a doula, my clients are putting their trust in me to give them all the relevant information necessary to make their own decisions. So the worst thing that I could do is accidentally give them false information for fear of admitting that I don't know the answer.

It's okay to not know the answers! The answers are out there. You just need to go find them, and that's how you learn and expand your expertise.

A good teacher never forgets that they are a student first and foremost. A good teacher is always learning and expanding their knowledge base.

I learn from my students and clients, and they learn from me

One thing that has been so beautiful and healing to witness as a doula is seeing babies being born into families with two parents who love each other

To see two people who live each other so much that their love is now multiplied is pure magic

As the non-birthing partner, your job is to stay calm and grounded. A woman's hormones are like the deep vast ocean, constantly changing and unpredictable. A birth partner must be like the rocks along the shore, able to stand strong amidst the chaos, unshaken and unphased

Remind your partner of their strength, how capable and amazing they are. Reaffirm your love for them every step of the way and validate everything they feel

And as your doula, I'm here for both of you! Because dad's and non-birthing partners need support. They're also having a baby for the first, second, or third time. And they're having their own experience as well

I've got your back!

I'm here to take things off of your plate so you have less to think about and can just focus on yourself and bringing your baby into the world

Your doula is the protector of your oxytocin. That means low lighting, music, safe guarding your space, respecting your boundaries and reminding you of your power

I'm here to make sure you have everything you need without having to ask

The more you're cared for, the more you can relax and enjoy your birth experience

If you or someone you know is having a baby, reach out to me for a free consultation and let's bring your dream birth experience into reality

There are a lot of things a birthing person needs in order to give birth with confidence and to let go of fear

While the right support, a calm environment and belief in oneself are all major contributing factors, the mum also needs to be in tuned with her body.

She needs to notice what her body is doing and how it feels. In order to do this, first, everyone else must be quiet. Then Mum can quiet her own mind and focus.

Relax all the muscles in her face to relax her cervix. Release tension in her shoulders and her hands and her jaw. Tune into her breath. A deep inhale through her nose into her belly and out through her mouth, bearing down with the exhale.

BREATHE your baby out. Breath is life and it is fuel. Your breath is the greatest uniter between your mind and body. Move with your breath and bring your baby into the world.

For more info on how breathwork plays a vital role in your birth experience, reach out to me via sms.

A Happy Women's Day to you all and all the women in your life

The ones who uplift you. The ones who cheer you on. The ones who see your greatness when you can only see your faults

To the women who mother you, sister you, protect you, and love you all at once

The women who are there when you're sick and there when you're full of zest. The women in your life who do all they can to make your life easier and care for you because it's never a hassle, but pure bliss to be there to support you

Thank you to all the women who have supported me and continue to support their communities and loved ones

Happy Women's Day

Two weeks ago I hosted my second ever retreat and the experience was breath taking

The Brigid's Day Retreat gave students the space to turn inward, observe their thoughts and their breath and let go with each exhale. Shedding anything that was weighing them down to make space for that which would truly nourish them

Breathwork and meditation together with a sound bath and Yin Yoga meant that students could fall deeply into their unconscious mind and find rest in often unvisited space.

Weaving Brigids Crosses, students imbued their crosses with intention and hope for the future. A beautiful gift to take home.

They were nourished with food and holistic drinks and overall, students were cared for and supported

I really enjoy teaching and hosting events, creating space for people to connect with themselves and get to know themselves a little better

If you'd like to join us for a day of healing, send me a PM

Brigid's Day Mini Retreat

First event of 2026!

And what better year to celebrate the Goddess of Fire than 2026, the year of transformation.

Transformation is ruled by fire and deeply connected to your Manipura chakra, the centre of fire in your body.

Fire is also a symbol of Brigid because she represents the hearth, around which the home and family are gathered

But she's also so much more than that. Originally, she was the goddess of healers, craftsmen, and poets. She's connected to the fertility of spring, another period of growth, when the silence of winter begins to sing with life.

Brigid carries with her, infinite potential. She gives us an opportunity to grow with change. Fire fuels that change with grit and determination

Step into spring harnessing the wisdom of the season and the alignment of the stars.
