Having spent my adult working life in customer service roles, I could never see myself doing anything other than dealing with people. Working in the Stairlift industry for the past number of years opened my eyes to what I now truly believe is my ideal career. I absolutely love what I do!! I’ve always enjoyed physical and technical work, and being able to blend that with dealing with people every day is a dream come true!! As a devoted son, Husband and father, I treat every customer with the care, compassion, and service I would expect for my own mother, wife & daughter. With over 1000 installations under my belt, and close to the same number of service calls, I still get excited every time the phone rings for an inquiry or call out! Whether it’s a quick call out for a breakdown assist or a major install of a multi-turn curved stairlift across various level floors – I guarantee a professional, fast, caring, and compassionate service. In 2025, Irish residents seeking stairlift grants can apply for the Mobility Aids Grant Scheme, which offers financial assistance for essential home adaptations, including stairlifts. The grant can cover up to 100% of the costs for eligible applicants, particularly those with lower household incomes, with a maximum grant of €8,000. The application process is handled by local authorities, and eligibility is determined based on household income and the need for adaptations.

Key Details:
Grant Name: Mobility Aids Grant Scheme.
Maximum Grant: €8,000 or 100% of the eligible costs, whichever is less.
Income

Threshold: For 100% funding, the gross household income for the previous tax year must be €37,500 or less, according to the Mobility Aids Grant Scheme.

Application Process: Contact your local authority (e.g., Cork County Council) for the application form and to discuss your specific needs.

Eligible Adaptations: The grant can be used for various home modifications, including stairlifts, ramps, and accessible bathroom facilities.

Here is a lift we installed last week for one of our customers in Ballyphehane. We opted to go with the Acorn 130 superglide with a hinge rail so as not to cause an obstruction to the doorway at the bottom of the stairs and to allow the most amount of space for the user. Another company had been out before us and wanted the customer to remove the newel post at the top of the stairs before they would fit the stairlift, There was absolutely no need to do so... Luckily this customer wanted a second opinion. Your stairlift is a vital part of your home, ensuring accessibility and safety. However, during a power cut, it’s essential to take a simple yet crucial step: turning off your stairlift. Here’s why this matters and how it can save you unnecessary costs.

Preserve Battery Life:

Stairlifts are equipped with batteries to ensure they operate even during a power outage. While this is a great feature, leaving your stairlift on during a power cut can drain the batteries quickly. If the power remains off for an extended period, the batteries may completely deplete, reducing their lifespan or leaving you unable to use the stairlift when needed.

Batteries Are Not Covered Under Warranty:

It’s important to note that batteries are considered consumable items and are not covered under the warranty for your stairlift. This means that replacing them comes at your own expense. Taking simple precautions, like turning off your stairlift during a power cut, can help extend the life of your batteries and avoid unnecessary replacement costs.

⭐️What to Do During a Power Cut⭐️

Switch Off Your Stairlift: Locate the on/off switch and turn it to the "off" position to prevent battery drain.

Minimize Usage: Only use the stairlift during the power cut if absolutely necessary.

Check the Power Supply: Once power is restored, turn the stairlift back on and ensure it charges as normal, Give it time to recharge on the return of power.
