Himalaya Yoga Valley was founded by Director and senior teacher Yogacharya Lalit Kumar in 2005. Lalit has been practicing yoga since the age of seven at traditional schools in India. Lalit and the team at Himalaya Yoga Valley are passionate about delivering affordable, accessible and authentic yoga to everybody through our online platform. We are delighted to carry on the ancient lineage of the Himalayas at our Cork Centres and Our Centre in Goa, India. With over a decade of experience we aim to deliver these traditional teachings in a modern setting. We have a wide range of classes available to suit everyone at our school- we teach Ashtanga, Hatha, Kundalini and also hold Yoga Alliance Teacher Training's at our centre. We deliver the highest quality yoga Teacher Training Courses, Yoga classes and workshops at our schools in Goa and Ireland and we also offer these courses online. Our schools rich lineage has spread from India to all corners of the world including Ireland. Over the past 7 years many Irish students have taken the journey to India to become yoga teachers under Lalits guidance. It is a great honour to see these students carry on the teachings at our centre in Cork. Himalaya Yoga Valley is registered with Yoga Alliance UK, Yoga Alliance US, The World Yoga Council and The International Yoga Federation ensuring the highest professional delivery of traditional yoga practices.

What happens when practise becomes purpose?🤍

This year, our community moved beyond the studio. We breathed together, moved together, and turned practise into action. What starts on the mat does not stay there.

Through our Yoga Gives Back initiatives, fundraisers, and community offerings, we showed up where it mattered for organisations like Simon Community, Edel House and MASI.

We supported humanitarian causes. We stood alongside asylum seekers. We cared for frontline and community workers. And through our annual children’s gift drive, we supported over 100 children living in direct provision, sharing warmth, dignity, and joy during the festive season❤️

Alongside this, we expanded access to education for women, investing in learning that supports our mission for genuine inclusion, with our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Scholarship Program that promotes indigenous female teaching paths for women in India.

Together, we raised over €10,000. Not just as a number, but as a reflection of intention, generosity, and shared responsibility.

These initiatives were led by teachers, organised behind the scenes by our team, supported by students, and carried by a community that understands wellbeing is not only personal, it is collective.

Across our two fundraiser classes last month, our community came together with a shared intention: to move, to give, and to support in meaningful ways and raised €500 raised for MASI.💛

Every class attended, every donation made, every moment shared contributed to something bigger than any one of us. This is what happens when practice extends beyond the mat and into the world around us.

✨As 2025 comes to a close, we’re pausing to honour a year shaped by steady growth, shared intention, and community at its core.

This year, we moved in many ways - through daily practice, new offerings, deeper learning, and meaningful connection. We celebrated 100+ yoga graduates across our trainings, launched Reformer Pilates, refreshed the ālaya On-Demand experience, and continued expanding access through offerings like Chair Yoga and Mat Pilates.

2025 also marked an exciting milestone with the opening of our new retreat centre in Goa, shaped by the same values of authenticity, accessibility, and connection. Alongside this, we marked one year of our Carrigaline Studio, a space that has grown into a true home for practice, connection, and consistency.

Beyond the mat, our community came together with purpose. Through initiatives such as Yoga Gives Back, multiple fundraisers, Yoga in the Park, and our Christmas Gift Drive, we raised over €10,000, supporting meaningful causes and widening our circle of care.🩷
