Antenatal classes are facilitated by Maire Crowley,an expierienced midwife in Glounthaune in Cork. Description
Maire is currently working as a midwife in CUMH and therefore can give you the latest information relating to childbirth in Cork. She is a mother of three and also completed a Masters in UCC with a strong emphasis on antenatal education. The class numbers are small, creating a relaxed atmosphere where interaction and questions are encouraged, giving more time for personal attention. The class is aimed at first time parents and are a great way to meet other couples who are also preparing for parenthood. We look at all options available to you and help to ensure that you are confident and prepared for childbirth and caring for your baby afterwards. Topics covered will be:-

3 stages of labour
Pain relief in labour
Breathing exercises
Breastfeeding
Bottlefeeding
Bathing baby
Care of mother and new baby

These antenatal classes are run by a qualified midwife and therfore, certain policies allow a reclaim under Reclaimable Maternity Benefit/Prenatal Care/Midwifery Services.
