When parents begin on their parenting journey, they simply cannot be expected to know it all and do it all!

New parents may struggle with:
👉🏼 knowing what is ‘normal’ in the early days
👉🏼 lack of sleep
👉🏼 emotional ups and downs
👉🏼 finding time to shower, eat or rest
👉🏼 learning baby’s cues and new born care
👉🏼 feeling isolated or lonely
👉🏼 and more

Having a postpartum doula by your side prevents many of these difficulties.

Hiring a doula has many benefits:

💝 calm and experienced support in your home
💝 reassurance about what is normal
💝 space to rest and look after yourself
💝 nourishing meals
💝 non judgmental care and support
💝 reduced overwhelm and validation

Prepare for your postpartum today! Find out about your local doula and give her call.

What question would you ask a doula the first time you talk to her?

Many partners want to be supportive after the baby arrives.
But the truth is… very few people actually tell them what support looks like in the early weeks.

The postpartum period can be intense.
Sleep is fragmented, emotions are close to the surface, and mothers are recovering while caring for a newborn.

And yet, small actions from a partner can make an enormous difference.
Things like
• making sure mum eats regularly
• protecting time for rest
• taking care of practical tasks
• offering reassurance and encouragement

These everyday acts help create the conditions for recovery, bonding and confidence as a new family.
That’s why I created a Postpartum Partner’s Guide: a comprehensive and practical resource to help partners understand what really helps in the fourth trimester.

Grab your copy for only €9.99, link in bio.

Tag your partner in the comments to let them know guidance is only a click away!

We prepare so much for birth… but what about everything that comes after?

So grateful to be featured in Bray People today, speaking about postpartum and the support mothers truly need in those early weeks.

I’ll be continuing the conversation on East Coast FM next Wednesday.

In 2025, the EDN launched an open call for Doula Solidarity and Support initiatives from across Europe to get in touch about their work promoting birth equity.

We call doulas who work with a wide range of marginalized communities—including ethnic minorities, with a refugee or migrant-background, LGBTQIA+ individuals, vulnerable mothers, those living with physical and/or mental health challenges, the incarcerated, and others living in very under-resourced situations.

Now we offer this special meeting to open further discussion in your language with other doulas and related perinatal professionals in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and birth equity (midwives, doctors, researchers, etc.).

There will be a brief hello and introduction from the EDN Doula Solidarity and Support Initiative volunteers followed by:
• break out rooms (by language/country)
• feedback to main group (English)
• REPEAT x1
We feel there is a value in keeping it simple, open and respectful, doing what doulas do best: connecting and supporting!

Partners are often expected to “just know” how to help after the baby arrives.
But in reality, most are figuring it out as they go, while also navigating their own transition into parenthood.
The postpartum period is a time of recovery, adjustment and emotional change.
And the support of a partner can make a profound difference, not through grand gestures, but through small, consistent, thoughtful actions.

This post shares some of the foundations.
The kind of things I come back to again and again in my work with families.

If you’d like more guidance, the Postpartum Partner’s Guide goes deeper: offering practical, realistic support, created from experience and shaped by the feedback of dads themselves.

And soon, there will also be a Dad’s Masterclass to accompany it.
Because partners deserve support and preparation too.

Tasty creamy chicken and tarragon!

14/04/2026

This is my most simple way to make a chicken and vegetable broth.

3 carrots 🥕
2 onions 🧅
800g of chicken 🐓 bones and meat, oven roasted
4 garlic 🧄 cloves,,crushed
An aromatic bundle made of parsley, thyme and leek.
1 leek
4L of water 💦
One piece of ginger 🫚
Salt and pepper.

Bring to the boil, lower the heat and simmer for at least some hour.
Strain the broth and use the veg and chicken to make a soup!

How easy was that?!
Save this post for when you want to make an amazing broth in record time.

There is a lot of information out there for new mothers.
But partners are often left trying to figure things out on their own…
wanting to help, but not always knowing how.

This Postpartum Partner’s Guide was created to change that.

It is written and designed from my experience as a certified postpartum doula, supporting families through those early weeks at home, seeing, again and again, what truly makes a difference.
And just as importantly, it has been
read, re-edited and approved by dads I’ve worked with.

So it is practical, realistic, and grounded in real family life.
Inside, you’ll find clear, supportive guidance on:
• how to support recovery after birth
• what mothers often need (but don’t always say)
• how to feel more confident and involved as a partner
• simple, meaningful ways to make those early weeks smoother

This guide includes a TLDR Bonus page for the already echausted partners out there!

This is about helping partners feel useful, prepared and connected instead of unsure or on the sidelines.

And soon, there will also be a Dad’s Masterclass available to accompany the guide, for those who want a deeper level of preparation and support.
For now, the guide is available for €9.99.

This is a fantastic gift for soon to be dads and partners, easily downloadable and easily read.

This is the reward!

Receiving messages like these is what I live for as a doula who cooks 💞

I love receiving news from clients about them doing great once I have finished working with them, or messages about babies reaching milestones and the parents being so happy and proud
But messages about my food being awesome is just the best!

Nourishing postpartum families is something I love doing so knowing they are enjoying their meals is very special to me.

What postpartum meals would you love to have cooked for you?

The postpartum period is something we live through…
but rarely prepare for in a practical way.

We think about the birth.
We think about the baby.

But not always about:
– how we will nourish ourselves
– what we will eat when we are tired
– how recovery will actually feel

A little preparation here can make a very real difference.

If you’d like a gentle place to start, I created a small postpartum nutrition guide to support you in the early weeks

This is my 2nd recertification with

To re certify, you need to show proof of continued learning and training.

This helps me focus on my work and ethics on a regular basis and stay up to date with information and evidence on varied topics.
Being a certified doula matters to me because I am a professional with a specific set of skills and I could not fathom resting on my initial training from 10 years ago.

I am a proud Dona member!
