I left my career in nursing and became a therapist by accident!!

Yup! It wasn't a conscious career move. 10 years ago, I had burnout so bad that it was painful to walk. I had to go on sick leave & I had no idea what was facing me.

I went through a couple of years of serious illness and treatments that left me empty & exhausted. I had started receiving complimentary therapies and I found them phenomenal! I studied Reflexology as it was a treatment that I could do on myself (hand Reflexology) & get myself back on track.

It's been years of back and forth. Bottom line, I didn't go back nursing. But I did delve deeper into the world of complimentary therapies.

My experience as a nurse and my personal experiences with burnout & other illnesses, give me phenomenal insight into how i can help you, with a deep sense of understanding & compassion.

High blood pressure!

Interesting study to show how reflexology can help. While reflexology is not a replacement for medical treatment, it is useful as a complementary approach in managing hypertension.

We often think of blood pressure support in terms of medication, diet, and exercise, and rightly so. But this study looked at something a little different: foot reflexology as an add-on.

In a randomized clinical trial led by Kotruchin et al., adults with stage 2 hypertension received a short, targeted reflexology treatment alongside their usual care.

What they found?
👉 A measurable reduction in blood pressure
👉 A decrease in heart rate
👉 Effects seen within just 30 minutes

This wasn’t a replacement for medical treatment, but it does point to reflexology as a useful complementary approach in managing hypertension.

It’s a reminder that small, non-invasive interventions can still have meaningful physiological effects.

Sharing a snippet from my Sunday walk.

I didnt feel like going for a walk yesterday. I had an especially busy week, Saturday & I felt flat!

So rather than pushing into the "power walk", I made a deal with myself. A long but more gentle, reflective walk just by my house. It was lovely. I stopped to listen to the birds. New Spring growth is abundant. A beautiful bright evening to be out. (I literally got insude my door after grabbing a clothes line of dry bedsheets & the heavens opened). Divine timing...
