OMAC Cork Unit were delighted to take part in a fantastic Community Organisation Day hosted on the grounds of Dell Technologies in Cork.

It was a great opportunity to showcase what we do, connect with other community groups, and highlight the impact the Order of Malta Ambulance Corps has locally and beyond. Our team engaged with attendees throughout the day, sharing experiences, skills, and sense of community that defines OMAC.

A big thank you to the organisers for such a well-run and welcoming event (and the cakes)— we were proud to represent OMAC and be part of such a vibrant community gathering.

What a busy and rewarding Easter weekend for OMAC Cork! 🐣🚑

Across three full days, our members were on duty providing vital cover at a range of events, showing professionalism, commitment, and teamwork throughout.

The weekend began in Mallow, where crews were kept busy supporting racing over three days. As always, our volunteers rose to the challenge, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all in attendance while working seamlessly alongside event organisers and other emergency services. And always a pleasure to work beside our colleagues from Order of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Carrigaline, Order of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Killarney, and Order of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Cashel.

On Saturday our members spent their day at the Point-to-Point in Portlaw, where once again our members delivered a high standard of care in a demanding and fast-paced environment.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers who gave up their time over the Easter weekend. Your dedication and willingness to serve your community is what makes OMAC Cork so strong.

Now time for a well-earned rest before the next call of duty! 💪

☘️ lá Fhéile Pháidraig Shona Daoibh / Happy St. Patrick’s Day from OMAC Cork! ☘️

What a fantastic day on duty for the Cork City Parade! Our team was proud to support the event, helping to keep things running safely and smoothly while also having the honour of walking in the parade itself. The atmosphere was electric, and it was great to see the streets of Cork filled with colour, music, and community spirit.

A special parade for us as we celebrate our 60th Anniversary this year.

A special mention today goes to Deirdre, who is celebrating her birthday — what a way to spend it, on duty and in the heart of the celebrations! 🎉

Well done to all involved for your professionalism, teamwork, and dedication. A day to remember! 💚

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mums across our unit! 🌸

Today we celebrate the incredible women who support, encourage, and inspire our Cadets, Youths and Seniors every single day. From drop-offs to cheering from the sidelines, helping with uniforms, camps, and duties — your support makes everything we do possible.

A special thank you to the many mums who also volunteer their time as Medics and Suporters within our units. Your dedication, patience, and kindness help shape the experiences and memories our members will carry for a lifetime.

And a massive thank you to the mums and daughters in our unit who volunteer in the unit serving our communities with pride.

We hope today brings you a well-deserved moment to relax and feel appreciated for all that you do.

Happy Mother’s Day from everyone in OMAC Cork! 💐

Last weekend the Unit held a training day for members. Everyone had an opportunity to put the skills that they have learned over the past number of weeks and months to the test. Members completed scenarios based on realistic situations that we encounter while on duty.

The training day was a full unit affair with cadets and youth members acting as patients and also making sure the casualty moulage was looking good.

Yesterday, two our youth members attend a national course to further enhance their casualty moulage skills. We hope to see them put the knowledge and sills to se at more of our weekly training sessions.

🚴‍♂️ On Duty in Support of Cycle Against Su***de 💛

Members of OMAC Cork were proud to be out on duty today in support of Cycle Against Su***de, helping to ensure the safe running of this powerful and important event.

Cycle Against Su***de continues to shine a light on mental health, reminding everyone that it’s OK not to feel OK and that help is always available. Our volunteers were honoured to play a small part in supporting the cyclists, organisers, and communities who came together to promote hope, connection, and open conversations around mental wellbeing.

A huge well done to all the cyclists taking part and to the organisers and volunteers who make this event possible each year. Your efforts help spread an incredibly important message across the country.

Stay safe everyone, and remember: You are never alone.

Cadet Training Night 🩺

Our cadets had a busy and practical training night, focusing on key lifesaving and first aid skills.
The session covered CPR, arm injuries and slings, and haemorrhage control, giving cadets the chance to learn, practise, and build confidence in handling real-world emergency situations.

Hands-on training like this is a vital part of developing skills, teamwork, and readiness — well done to all involved 👏

Great to be back at training with OMAC Cork after the Christmas break 💪🚑

This week was all about getting hands-on again — checking kit bags, refreshing equipment, and putting ourselves through our paces with some challenging scenarios. From fallen jockeys to intoxicated patients and fractures with suspected broken bones, it was a solid reminder of the wide range of incidents we need to be ready for.

Training hard, revisiting the basics, and pushing our skills keeps us sharp and ready to provide the best care when it matters most. Plenty of learning, teamwork, and a few well-earned aches — just the way it should be.

Onwards and upwards 👏

🌧️🐎 Duty Done at the Point-to-Point! 🐎🌧️

What a day out for the OMAC Cork Units, providing event duty at a very mucky point-to-point race this weekend! Despite the challenging underfoot conditions, our members turned out in force, showing professionalism, teamwork and good humour from start to finish.

From early starts to long hours on wet ground, everyone played their part to help ensure a safe and well-run event. A great example of OMAC in action – service, resilience and community spirit on full display.

Well done to all involved, and thanks to the organisers for having us. 👏⚜️
